But if you were him, wouldn't you stall on signing the deal for another 2 weeks until the transfer window shuts and confirms our relegation with this squad thus knocking about £60mill off the price of the club?
And without wishing to cast doubt on his business acumen, is he aware he could have bought Newcastle or Aston Villa for half the amount Bernie's getting him to cough for?
Seems he's paying a bit of a premium for the word 'boutique'. Or should that be bootique, Flavio?

Do we know how much Ferdandes is being asked to pay? - I just heard it was considerably less than Eccles original valuation of $100m for the club. And if the Mittals are increasing their shareholding from 33% to 45% as speculated, they are presumably paying a similar price to Ferdie, so I think the original asking price has been considerably reduced.

If the deal stalls, it does f**k us up on transfesr, but won't help Ferdie because relegation isn't confirmed one way or the other until next May. The Goons will have found another buyer by then.

Newcastle were up for sale in 2009 after they were relegated to the championship for £100 mil. Now they're a premiership club would be surprised if they're now half that price...although I don't know for sure. These businessmen have made their millions (or billions) by being shrewd and knowing what's on offer. Sure there's more to all this which none of us know about.

I'm pretty sure that the wealthy use sports clubs as some sort of tax break, saving them millions.

    I don't know how it's done, if I did I would be T.F. financial advisor ;)

I tried to use my season ticket purchase for a tax break but I didn't get very far. Although this clearly represents a major investement in a sports club by my standards you also have to be a corrupt overseas tycoon before it counts apparently.

Original post has a point. Company valuation is based in part on future events (prospect of relegation) so every loss will knock off a chunk of value. It's perplexing why these two clowns are still hanging on. I know they're opportunists but the world isn't exactly teeming with cashed up individuals right now. Just looking at the losses we've been incurring since 2008, I wouldn't be surprised if the goons are barely breaking even (based on the more realistic price reported). But they're in the last chance saloon so whats it gonna be??
