....not yet anyway. We had looked a good team capable of being competitive in this league in recent matches. Should have beat Newcastle, beat Wolves well, good 1st half versus Villa. It does highlight our lack of defensive back-up however so we are very reliant on being injury free in this department. Lets hope Gabbidon returns quickly. I have been disappointed with Barton's form but we know him to a better player so we have got to assume that he will come good. SWP needs to show us more of his early form. We need some magic from Taarabt. There had been some signs in recent games. Faurlin needs to be more consistent and step up to the mark (if he is truly capable). and.........we need to start scoring goals!
Nothing to worry about then,i just wish it was as simple as that, Blackburn will be fighting for there lives and then we have Spurs and City, we might be stuck on 8 points after that lot and deep in the ****e
"QPR return with a solid performance after last Sundays thumping and beat Blackburn 2-0. Armand Traore with his first for the club and Taarabt silences his critics with a wonder goal. Steve Kean headbutts the linesman" You heard it here first!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that the defeat to fulham could be a blessing in disguise, since the new players have come in, granted we have played very well, but i think the players as well as us fans have been guilty of believing the hype and assuming that staying in the premier would be a piece of piss! the objective this season will be to finish 17th and if we do, it will probably be by a point or 2.I know everyone is bitterly disapointed because it was a derby but fulham have been a premier league side for 10 years or more i am fully expecting a few more 6-0 beatings this season and any of you that aren't are living in dreamland,I for one will keep the faith and believe we will survive,JUST!
Okay we had a tonking, we all knew that there would be some during the season, just that Fulham never entered that part of the equation. Anyway we do not become a bad team overnight and i feel that some of our expectations on here are a bit above ourselves, the objective always was and still is 17th place, we need to remember that. Last season we were scoring goals for fun using the same formation as we are using now, just with different personnel, but last season we were basically playing 2 games a week, therefore it became easier the more familiar the players became with each other and the style of play, so far we have played 7 games and only 4 with the new players, it will still take time to gel. BTW that was Fulhams 18th game of the season, so maybe there is something in playing twice a week!!! It is likely that we are putting too much pressure on the side, lets stick with it, get wins over the sides that are going to be with us in and around the bottom of the league and accept any more tonkings that we may get with good grace, remember 17th is good!! Up the R's
Dan, it took me the best part of 30 mins to do post due to phone calls etc so apologies if mine sounds the same as your post!!!!
