Disappointing to concede a late goal but our secret weapon Frank Nouble is on so we're sure to turn it around! <doh>

Wasn't at the game and didn't get to even listen. But late, late subs just after going behind reeks of a lack of imagination. Nouble comes on late every game and so far has not contributed to any results so why keep doing it?

This is where we fecken well are at the moment – go a goal down in the 83rd and you know you’re not coming back, even a late equaliser would be a substantial surprise.

Mid-table mediocrity is what many of us predicted given Mick’s budget in the close season and mid-table mediocrity is what we’ll get. As we also predicted, if we keep hold of Mick then next season might be the time when we’ll challenge.

Until we have a team where going one-nil down in the 83rd doesn’t necessarily have us automatically writing off the game then that’s where we’ll be.

I just try and cheer myself up with notion that relegation fights are consigned to the nightmarish history of Keane and Jewell. Dull mediocrity is a good thing right now, such is the hopelessness and legacy of that demonic pair.

Sounded like the type of game where sending Mariott on wouldn't have harmed, no expectation against top of the league, especially after going behind.

Give him some match experience, send his confidence soaring if he managed to get a goal.

A top half finish this season is what we should be aiming for. Anything above tenth will be a bonus.
Nouble hasn't really done anything with the chances he has been given, I don't think Marriott could do any worse.

last couple of comments sums it up for me. I was never expecting greatness this season and we are currently around what I was expecting. I said top half finish, no stupid mistakes and a bit of respect brought back to the club. We have been beaten by a decent team who didn't create alot, although they played the ball well. That's progress and a reason to be happy.
The problem is, for me at least, although we are do what I was expecting it feels we could be doing more. A bit more flair and decisiveness and we could possibly be doing even better.
Our bench is defensive minded and we have Marriott there but don't give him a go, surely if he isn't ready then we should have Lee there or an attack minded midfielder. Personally I would have Lee and Marriott and leave Nouble out. I would also have a keeper, two from Mings/ Hewitt/ Edwards and have Wordsworth there along with Tabb.

It was disappointing to concede such a soft goal that was nothing more than a long hop, it seemed as though everyone decided that someone else was going to deal with it so no-one did.
At the back Id restore the Smith / Chambers partnership and if Hewitts not going to be played then get a RB in on loan, as for midfield we need some pace and attacking creativity maybe Taylor will be the one to get us moving when he returns and fully fit? Also Id start Tabb as Anderson is ineffective.
Murphy is too inconsistent and slow to be considered an ideal partner for McG and Nouble doesnt seem to be up to standard although hes had very few chances to impress so lets try Marriot whos champing at the bit for a start, this would also mean that we stop lumping long high balls up to Murphy hoping a lay off finds McG, against good teams this just doesnt work as Murphy isnt good enough all we end up doing is giving the ball straight back to the opposition. I suppose the good thing is that it wont take much to turn a decent team into a very good team.

I am struggling to understand why MM can't see what we can all see.....Nouble is cack, we would clearly be better served with Lee & Marriot on the bench, this comes from someone who does not and never rated Lee, that is how poor Nouble is, come on MM sort it out pls.
