Had a request from Bollo yesterday to include him in a sitcom......I'm more of a one-off drama type of writer than sitcoms. Sitcoms are near impossible to think of because the public automatically compare them to the greats like Only Fools, Father Ted, One Foot In The Grave etc. He gave me some info to work on such as his appearance etc & I came up with the following loosely* based on me & Bollo: Starts with 2 young kids from Manchester, best of friends, inseperable at school & outside of school. They are growing up during the 80's when Manchester is buzzing with the Smiths, Stone Roses etc & the two are swept up in the scene. They are both fairly succesful with the ladies, decent looking blokes who like a good time & a good laugh. As they get older one of them starts to show more signs of ageing than the other (Bollo), his hair starts thinning, a few creases in the face - nothing ott. But the other guy (Brum) keeps his young boyish looks. At first the younger one ribs his mate about the ageing difference. Over time Bollo finds a girl & begins to settle down, whilst Brum uses his boyish looks to continue the party scene following the emergance of Oasis & the Brit pop scene, however, under the surface Brum is not happy. The girls he meets are decent enough, but younger than him & more interested in the next party then settling down. Hing boyish looks were beginning to count against him. Women his own age didn't really give him a second look, believing him to be younger than his years & thus to immature for them. Bollo does not have much sympathy for his mate - from the outside it looks great, partying, sleeping with young beautiful women but he doesn;t understand what his friend is going through. Bollo's mrs thinks he's a man whore & also has little sympathy & doesn't like the friendship as she believes her feller is better than Brum. After one party too many Brum ends up back at Bollo's house. Bollo is away on business. His mrs sits with Brum as he pours his heart out to her about his deep loneliness & pain inside. Her & Bollo then begin a crusade to find him a mrs right - which of course they do & all live happily ever after Bollo would be played by Simon Gregson AKA Steve McDonald from Corrie & I would be played by Paul Nicholls AKA Joe Wicks from Eastenders. * Very ****ing loosely.
I didn't think there was much point elaborating on this pissy happy endings that the birds love!! Just the basics for the blokes will do.

how about some gritty drama? nev's inevitable spiral into smackdom franks thai lady boy induced bad aids struggle ML being haunted by ghost of suicide stalker girl etc etc etc
All good ideas lads, but unlikely to be screened as they're not that believable or too far fetched to make a good drama Bollo - after I came up with the plot about 19.30pm it took me till 23.30 to come up those posible actors. I was looking for guys about the same age with one looking far younger. Will Mellor was in the frame.........but he's a ****!!
Sorry LR - you've to appreciate TV execs like me get a hundred ideas sent to us everyday so its near impossible to read them all at length on top of my own commitments. If folk want me to write them in a drama feel free to PM me a bit about yourself, appearance wise, hobbies etc & I'll work my way through it
I will only do dramas for those who want me to do them. Doing a drama based on Franks time in Thailand could seem me up in court unless he allows me to do so
Im from Edington, Birmingham. Im quite short - midget like you could say. Im no looker , in fact im quite ugly really i like DIY and hangining curtains (net ones especially) I have a missus and young child. Create a story using these please?
If Will Mellor was cast I would have been ****ing disgusted but that was never on the cards! I am liking it although it does seem to be a bit too easy running. You'd need a good plot twist thrown in If I'm over stepping the mark here, tell me to **** off!
The plot twist will be Nicholls appearing to enjoy his life & Gregson being envious to the roles being reversed. When it hits Nicholls that deep down his life is empty its a real roller coaster of a ride of emotion, the things he's missed out on so far that Gregson has - the little things you take for granted when being in a relationship & the things you hate like having to go to someother ****ish couple house for a meal!!! The one to one with Gregsons wife follows an incident where Nicholls is accused of being a perv when somebody finds out he's older than he looks & the woman he's currently with is 18 but still at school!!
Brum why don't you pen a drama about your own current predicament, in a Boys From the Blackstuff style I see you as a Yosser Hughes type, unemployed character, going round curtain shops and the like all day, stating "Gie's a job, ah can do that" A real gritty drama
