No activity in the transfer front? well it's early days yet and I'm sure there will be additions to the squad within the next few weeks, so chill guys. However there's one little gem that is doing really well at HQ and that's the new Ferdinand, Troy Hewitt!! Do you remember when I posted last year that my son played against him? my son (who's a good solid semi pro) said that this boy has got a massive future in the English top flight! then QPR buy him, I can see this boy will be given a chance to shine in pre-season and trust me he will..............
I'm a big fan of the lad Rollercoaster, my son, who's no mug reckoned his manager questioned his validity cos he was streets ahead of everyone on the pitch! he also added that the step up would be no problem for the lad...Maybe Warnock knows this?
Good news indeed if true. But as someone who played at semi-pro level the gap between there and the Premier league is of Everest like proportions. Hope you're right Eddie, and the kid's the next Les. But let's not heap too much pressure on him just yet
Interesting indeed. Surprised he didnt get a run out in the Championship at all? Is he really good enough for the Prem? We'll soon find out.
The Ferdinands of this world don't come along to often, but as you say, "Why not?". Hopefully he will play on the Crawley match, as I 'll be able to get to that one. Eddie, have some rep for starting one of the few positive threads!
If memory serves, Sir Les didn't come oven-ready. Francis worked on him for ages. Once the cutting-edge skills had been honed, a great deal of confidence building went on before we had the finished article. I wouldn't be surprised if young Troy doesn't have to go through all the same processes...
Les had several loans spells, one at Brentford and a couple at Besiktas. From memory he was lined up for a permenant transfer to them.
Great story, might of happened twenty years a ago. But sadly not in this day & age. You win nothing with kids.
