    ITFC fan in peace

Congrats on signing Connor. I really believed that he was Liverpool bound, but you stole a march on them so good on you.

I believe that you have a genuine star in the making, but you have bought potential at the moment, so give him time to settle and don't expect too much too soon or you may ruin the boy.

As I understand it Gyan is very pacy and mobile, in which case Connor will be a perfect foil. Ignore his age, this lad is a big unit who will knock around centre backs 10 years his senior. He has good feet and the potential to score spectacular goals. He is not the fox in the box that Benty was.

I hope that he does really well for you and will be keeping a close look out for your results next season.

    Cheers

I'm suprised there wasn't a loan deal for our Ryan Noble included in this.

A cracking player, and needs games, would have progressed with Ipswich, and both the clubs would have benefited from this.

Ipswich get a cracking player, and SAFC get one of our brightest prospects gaining valueable game time..

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if there is a deal done later for Noble to go to Ipswich. The amount owing on the Leadbitter and Edwards transfers may well have had an influence on us getting Wickham.

Noble may go to Ipswich on loan but probably our management is waiting to see all the offers that come in for him and who offers the best terms.

Hi SB - hope you haven't been listening to Adrian Durham on talkshite as he talks ****e - we, as a set of fans, are normally easy going and always willing to give players a chance. Wickham will have his knockers no doubt as, for some reason, there are a small minority who will knock someone for the sake of knocking them (people who I sat near the season before last) but as a whole we're normally pretty patient with players like this (although we don't often sign this level of player or potential). I'm really looking forward to the season.

Hope young Noble can get to you guys for some game-time as he will knock them in - looks a very good player and I've watched him through the juniors into reserve and play for the first team a couple of times as well.

Best of luck for the coming season - think you've got a jewel in Jewell as a gaffer (excuse the pun!) - think he'll do very well for you guys.

Thanks mate: and I'm sure that he will be afforded all the patience in the world for him to develop his talents.

We'll look after him mate, we are all aware of his youth, and we just look forward to seeing him progress and improve with us.

Training with an individual like Asamoah has got to help his game, from what i've seen he's got all the raw talent, and physically he ain't gonna be outmuscled by many.

All the best for the season, and i also hope we send you Noble, and he gets you lads fighting at the right end of the table.

Jewell is a good manager in that league, if you use the Whickam money wisely, his departure could be a blessing in disguise for you <ok>

He looks like a bloody farm hand! If all else fails we could stick him on a plough.

I'm looking forward to his development with us, don't think he will be thrown in straight away, I still think Welbeck on loan will be done before August.

If he is chucked in early he will get far more forgiveness from the fans than any other players based on his undoubted potential.

    Good post <ok>

I'm pretty sure the majority of SAFC fans will give the lad time to settle.
Not only because of his age, but because we are desperate for someone to come good and really light up the SOL.
We understand we are buying potential and hope the lad comes up with the goods.
Personally I think Sess and Gyan are going to shine this season, and the young lad can only benefit from playing with them.

He don't call him that any more, he's now just that bender that used to play up front for us.
