i'd usually laugh at a crackpot coming up with crap like that, but the reality is whenever our owner pops up in the news its usually more embarrassing things like employing a mates son with no visa, or telling a PL manager to walk, etc etcâ¦.. so i don't tend to laugh, instead i empathiseâ¦
Speaking of someone doing the recruiting, who do we have in that role now? It will be vital for us to have the right contacts for us to get the players to ensure we emerge from the Championship (at the top end of course) this time next year. OGS will have had limited time to find out about the trials and tribulations of the Championship so someone with knowledge of the division, the players and what it will take to get us out of it again is essential.
OGS said he watches a lot of football and won't be found wanting for knowledge about how to get out of the championship but i'm not so sure. as we all know the lower leagues of england are different, and he'll need advice from people who have been there and done it.
Yes, as we all know it is not a doddle and very different to what he experienced in Norway. I hope he doesn't think he can do it all on his own. If he learnt anything from his playing time at Man U, Ferguson surrounded himself with people he could trust in all the vital areas so his job was to give the final motivation before games, the bollockings when needed during and after games and be the figurehead - and make the lives of refs and other officials absolute hell. Sometimes OGS appears too nice to do all that unless he is the smiling assassin.
