Not blaming him, just don't rate him!
I blame NW for not picking HH ahead of Dave assuming Jay isn't fully fit!

Agree with everything said, then why is Warnock picking him ahead of Helguson?

Harsh on dave never stopped running put defenders on as much pressure as he could, would i have him the team, no, but remember he is sixth choice striker due to the virus and other injuries, no PACE when we attack.. fastest player at the moment.. Derry!! and that was DEF a pen

    Here's the thought process:
    1)We're losing
2)Usually bad play is what results in a loss
    3)Usually Dave plays badly
    thus
    Conclusion: Dave is playing badly.

He didn't. Certainly not in the first half, i'd say everyone's performance dropped in the second though.
Wait for the guys to get back from the game/LoftForWords to write a report, i'm sure they'll agree.

I don't normally pick out one player but Aggyman was toilet. I never want to see Dave play for us again. He brings nothing to the game.
We were better off playing Keith Curle instead of him. Complete waste of space and probably cost us scoring goals today. Every time he got the ball he lost it or did nothing with it, HH would have put that rebound in. Really pleased i couldn't go today because i would have been ejected for giving him stick.

    Back to the game.
They moved better than us, and were quicker on the break. They were closing us down well, and thought they deserved the win.
Thought Adel is getting back into things. Liked Buz and Derry. WE need to sort out our counter attacks though (we are so slow). Unlucky not to get a goal but that's what happens in the Prem, you miss they score.
We really do need 4-5 players.

Of the 22 on the pitch he was the worst player. would love to see his stats. Closing people down is no at this level, to be fair its not enough at any level.

Grifter , who was worse than Dave for us today?

I think your bang on the money Ellers. Our play in parts was ok but the general pace of our game was a lot slower than theirs. They looked great on the break and that is how they have moulded their side.

I think we all said that pace maybe an issue this season for us and it is starting to look that way.

Must say one plus for me over the last 3 games has been gabbidon, has done a fair job for me, better than expected.

Our luck was worse than Dave today.
He was brilliant for the first 20, and did nothing wrong for the rest of the first half.
All NW uses him for is to chase people down + put a lot of effort in for 60 mins.
On this occasion, we were already down after 60 mins..so he was left on, even though he was knackered!

I'm sorry but I disagree. I know he put effort in but even in the first half he lost the ball a lot and didn't spark anything up that side of the pitch.

So Neil uses him to chase people down.... that isn't getting goals. You can run around like a headless chicken all day (Which is sort of what he did) and it won't get goals unless you can do something with it.

I've often defended Agyemang and, of course, it's not his fault for being selected but we're in the Premier League now and he needs to be forgotten about, really. He wasn't even good enough for us last season. Sad to say it but it's true.

We'll have to watch the highlights because i don't remember him losing the ball more than once in the first half(without retrieving it).
There were other players who lost it more than him, but he just sticks out because we all know he's rubbish.
I don't deny he wasn't up to it last season, but i still don't think he was that bad today. It looks like weight of opinion is agaisnt me though..
Obviously having someone to "chase down" people is plan e/f, but with Jay/Dj under the weather there's not much we can do.
I have a suspicion Helguson might be going the way of Gorkks.

QPR1968 agreed when i commented how good Pat looked for the first part of the game.
Not on the wind up at all Col!
I'm quite keen to see MOTD now to see if he was really that bad..

We all know Dave isn't premiership class but that's what he's being asked to be....so it's down to the manager for picking him. Like asking a dinner lady to work in a Michelin-star restaurant...she'll be found out. But while we still have our main strike force out Nelly seems to want to put a big guy up front for these away games and hope he can hold the ball for the midfield to join him....unfortunately he's the only one that fits the bill.

here's a thought: maybe NW is playing Dave to highlight the need for another striker?
Looking forward to the Newcastle game where our new players will be getting their debuts
