    Team News

Doncaster midfielder Dean Furman is back in the reckoning for Saturday's Sky Bet Championship clash with QPR at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Furman served a one-match suspension in midweek as Rovers lost 2-0 to Charlton.

Reece Wabara has been carrying an injury in recent weeks and continued to play through the pain barrier at The Valley. The on-loan Manchester City defender went for a scan on Thursday and did not train and the results will determine whether he is involved on Saturday.

Paul Dickov could call on Martin Woods after the former Rovers midfielder re-joined the club this week on a short-term contract, and Enda Stevens will go straight into the squad after arriving on loan from Aston Villa.

QPR, meanwhile, have Junior Hoilett and Tom Carroll available again.

Winger Hoilett missed last weekend's 1-0 win over Charlton with a hamstring problem and midfielder Carroll has been back at parent club Tottenham for treatment on an ankle injury but both are in contention.

However, defender Nedum Onuoha will be out for another couple of weeks after suffering a recurrence of his hamstring injury.

Onuoha joins midfielder Alejandro Faurlin (cruciate) and striker Bobby Zamora (knee) on the sidelines for Harry Redknapp's side.

Official appointed for Doncaster Rovers fixture ...

WEST Midlands based official Oliver Langford has been appointed for QPR’s trip to Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.

This weekend will be referee Langford’s first Rangers appointment since August 2011 when he oversaw a 2-0 League Cup defeat against Rochdale at Loftus Road.

This season he had issued 28 yellow cards and sent off one player in 13 outings. Langford handed out seven cautions when Rotherham beat Brentford 1-0 in League One earlier this season, whilst six players were handed yellow cards in a match between Watford and Forest. He has issue no cards on four separate occasions this season.

Assisting Langford will be Karl Evans and Shaun Hudson whilst Nigel Murphy is on fourth official duties.

Great preview Nines, as per usual - let the countdown to kick-off begin, 11:00am for me, now back over on the other side of the pond after all my wonderful memories of last Sat in W12.

I will be be getting up early tomorrow morning to try and complete my chores ahead of ko, which involves driving our Dodge Grand Caravan, with the seats removed, to the local dump, having just loaded it full of ancient non-working appliances & electronics, including a 37" Sony "boat anchor" TV, a dishwasher and an old sofa.

I believe the weekend already got off to a good start for us with Reading picking up a win at Forest (2-3) to put those two teams almost level on points behind our leading group of three, having also both now played an extra game.

    Never been but wiki says;

"The Keepmoat Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Doncaster, England, with a capacity of 15,231. It cost approximately £20 million to construct, as part of the wider complex it resides within which in total cost approximately £32 million, and is mainly used by Doncaster Rovers, but is also used by Doncaster Rugby League Club and Doncaster Rovers Belles Ladies Football Club."

Bit too small for us I'd think, but looks a decent set up. Also, I can find links to streams of Blackburn vs Leeds and Huddersfield vs Burnley, but nothing for us...assuming it will be another radio afternoon unless anyone can shed any wisdom?

Its a nice little stadium very similar to scunthorpes one. On a souless trading estate but good facilities at the stadium

I'll be heading off to the station at 12 30 and a pre match pint

Will update the pie situation later

On that trading estate is a brewery that makes a decent pint, they open the place up on match days and welcome both sets of fans in, it's a lot better than Scunny IMO

I hope you have the line up right. That's what I'd go for. Certainly don't want Kranky out on the left!!

Hopefully Kerry, I hope Harry is right in what he says in this article...................

QPR boss sets wingers goal target for the season
    30 Nov 2013 08:00
Harry expecting his two wide men to hit the back of the net more often

Harry Redknapp refuses to budge from a formation of one lone attacker supported by a midfield bombing on – and insists Charlie Austin can’t do it all by himself, even if the frontman scored a spectacular winner against Charlton last week.

Instead, the gaffer believes Phillips and Hoilett, back to fitness and added to the squad, should be doing their bit in front of goal hopefully starting at Doncaster today.

The manager said: “You need wide players weighing in with goals. You need Matty Phillips, Junior Hoilett to get 8-10 goals each and we are looking for more from them.”

Injury-hit Phillips has yet to get off the mark, and Hoilett’s troubled hamstring has so far restricted him to just three in the scorers column.

For all that, the manager insists he’s got the right set-up bearing in mind England's recent shortcomings.

Harry explained: “England had two up at Wembley against Germany – and we don’t get a shot at goal.

“You might lose control of the game if you had two up, and the other team go and score.

“Even with one up and a midfield with three (and two wide men) we’re still creating chances.

“We had 20 odd shots on goal against Charlton.”

We should try to catch up with Burnley on goal difference so I am going for a 3 - 0 today.

Hoilett, Carroll and AJ on the bench. Any one of them can come on as a sub and change the game.

I would prefer to see AJ start ahead of Kranjcar. Watch as Kranjcar goes and scores the winner.
