Incredible. South Koreas foreign minister telling CNN that "credit clearly goes to Donald Trump"

Throughout his war of words with Kim Jung Un, he was labelled as a warmonger by fellow presidents and the left wing that is against him. There's only one language that blokes like Kim understand and Mr Trump knew that and with it, he has achieved what no other American President has managed to achieve before him. Fantastic news for the whole region. <applause>

He’d be the first winner of that award to have threatened nuclear war via the medium of Twitter.

    What a guy.

I'd say the real credit probably goes to the diplomats and commissioners who have paved the way for the talks to happen. But as reluctantly as I am to admit, you have to give credit to Trump for managing to make a breakthrough with this, because no other US president has.

I would caveat that with the fact that Trump probably doesn't know how to do it any differently and had it not been for Kim Jung Un making the first conciliatory moves, then Trump probably could have taken us to the edge of Nuclear war with N.Korea, but fair play it's been effective.

It’s too early to be getting the flags out, history shows us that we’ve been here before with North Korea, it remains to be seen whether there’s actions that follow the initial positive words.

For sure. They haven't even met yet and Kim Jung un will clearly be bargaining for what he wants too, which is probably US troops off of the Korean peninsula, an end to sanctions and probably some extra trade deals etc. But it's a start.

The other fear I have with this is that it will embolden Trump into thinking he can use Nuclear diplomacy as a means to boosting his popularity. The danger is that he then goes and threatens Iran with Nuclear war. And if people though Syria was a vipers nest in the middle east, threatening to nuke Iran would likely cause the start of world war 3.

Indeed. The ‘my bombs are bigger than your bombs’ and you’d better pipe down or you’ll be getting a taste of it, sort of only works if the other side backs down......and if they don’t, then what? You’ve made a public declaration, you’ve committed yourself, you’d look like you had tiny bollocks (or hands) if you didn’t follow through......the bloke is unhinged imo, a narcissist with a fragile ego, he’d never want to seen as a man who backed down from such a stance.

And a ****ing lunatic. Thing is with lunatics, they scare everyone, including other lunatics like the fat kid.

Trump's lunacy appears to have got results on this occasion. Maybe. This will only encourage him to get his chopper out and start waving it at Iran. Let's see how that one goes.

If all he’s contributed is sabre rattling threats, then he deserves little credit.

However, if he was personally involved in convincing the Chinese to back the latest sanctions, then tbf he’d deserve some genuine praise. As North Korea’s sudden change of stance has more to do with the potential alienation of their closest ally than Trumps twitter threats imho.

I think people will refuse to eat the humble pie out of spite mate, hopefully his great work will put an end to this millennial snowflake mentality, brute force is the best way to build bridges and fix things.

The guys a clown, hasn't a clue and America deserves a slap for electing a ****ing giant bell end as President.
BUT, credit where its due, if he has done one thing right during his presidency, its this.
But even a broken clock is right twice a day
I fear that there will be a further series of missteps that will overshadow this by his Presidencies end though, of that I have little doubt.
