The three pooches took just 2 months to learn the basics. Sat in a modified mini-cooper, they sit in the drivers seat on their hind legs, and use their front paws to steer. Their little feet go to extension levers which are attached to the accelerator and breaks so they can control the perambulation of the vehicle, while they can also control the gear stick with their other paw. It is thought after 2 more months of extensive training, in which they'll learn manoeuvres such as parallel parking, 3 point turns and emergency stops, as well as being able to deal with busy roundabouts, the scheme will be introduced throughout a number of countries, including England and Wales. It is thought they'll eventually replace standardized dogs for the blind, although their owners will, like any other driver going out on the road, have to take out insurance on their pooch before getting behind the wheel, at a cost of up to £1700 a year." http://www.clarionledger.com/viewar...Video-?odyssey=tab|mostpopular|text|FRONTPAGE
