Anyone remember that bloke and his dad who got in the Echo tearing up or throwing away season tickets or something? I think it was over parking wasn't it? Well Swindon Town have now proved that it's not just us who have got very angry fans. http://bit.ly/1jYsiZE My posts on here prove I am, sometimes, one of the worst culprits on this forum but even so I think five defeats in a row is not unusual for any club in England, apart from the usual suspects. Made me laugh anyway, they even interviewed him on the local TV news where he proudly told how he threw his memorabilia in STFC's reception. Plonker.
He was probably having a bad day. I nearly threw my coffee at a wall in McDonalds the other day because it took 5 minutes to arrive, but the reality is I had a bad day at work and just found out I was unable to watch the match on Sunday.
He's mistaken if he thinks doing that will protect him from pain...might need to move to Mars for that.
Our morons gave up their tickets because they were charged for parking!!! Missed a great season for their stupidity. So Saints morons are the best.
Not a coffee connoisseur, but it's Starbucks that I hate. Café Nero is nice. However, part of that may be due to my hatred of large paper cups. Have given up tea on Wightlink since they moved from proper cups to paper cups.
Have you ever drunk McDonald's coffee? I bet you drink the expensive freeze dries stuff and think it's gourmet.
I have and it ain't Costa. But if choosing between McD's and no coffee I would go for McD. No coffee or Starbucks on the other hand .... I love futile gestures. They always make the perp look stupid.
This guys actions are futile gestures in the big scheme of things, but i wouldnt call him a moron, its just utter frustration watching the club he loves in meltdown. I remember the Ian Branfoot days at the Dell and how dispirited a lot of us were, and then again in more recent times as we slid down the leagues to Lg 1 and -10 points etc. I didnt stop supporting Saints but i can understand how frustrated some people get, esp when they are having a bad day with other things.
When I am in town I go to Mettricks by the Bargate. Nice local people run it. It is coffee to die for. No Starbucks for me as by not paying their tax they threaten our schools and hospitals.
Those are fair point but I can't help thinking taking it out on people who work in the front office is a bit petty. I happen to know first hand there are a couple of people who work for STFC who have minimal or no interest in professional football. It's just a job they enjoy and do well, so to get in a strop with them is a bit silly, after all what can the receptionist do about the performance of the team or the direction the club is taking? But yes I know full well how frustration can get the better of you. I was so frustrated with that hoof-ball Europa League exit - in fact I still am.
It's not the best, but it is pretty good. I like the fact I can get it on a drive through. Pisses them off though when that's all I order. "does that complete your order sir?" "Yes" "No food" "No, just the coffee" "Nothing to eat?" "No thanks" "Oh.... Ok"
Beating your head against the wall for being in a McDonald's at all might have been the better option.
I have to say tearing your ticket up because you have to pay a £1 parking fee, does strike me as being a bit moronish. Cutting your nose off to spite your face is a well known saying and fits the bill perfectly. Years ago at the dell after the game I was walking up hill lane to get my car. My mates uncle was ahead of us arguing with his wife. He was saying if you hadn't made me leave the game early I would have seen the last goal. " but it was disallowed dear" still a goal though and saints would have won if it had stuck. Waste of money ....."but it didn't cost you anything, you used my dads season ticket" Sod you not bringing you again........
I work with quite a few STH at Swindon and although disappointed with their results, none have ripped up their tickets, they are just waiting for the new manager to come in and hopefully turn it around.
Actually here in N.Z. and Australia you can get some excellent coffee in a Macdonalds. Buy it in their McCafe section and you will find that it is way superior to Starbucks.
I'd never buy a coffee at a chain, mind you I live in Edinburgh, where I'm given lots of options. I do buy food at the major chain supermarkets as its cheaper than local shops, but that's seldom the case with a coffee (except when you want a huge Massimo, Grande or UEFA cup from Costa etc ).
Just read an article about 19th century railways...one customer complained that coffee in the railway cafes tasted like a coffee berry had bathed in it earlier in the day. Nothing changes, does it?
