Suarez. Great player and great talent. His skill, technique and creativity can be better than any in the world at time.

But does any one else get annoyed when Suarez gets a chance to shoot and goes for a fancy chip, when a simple shot, or finish is more appropriate, and missing? Or when he tries to neatly place a penalty and gives it straight to the keeper?

Suarez has scored some great goals for us, but some times I think he needs to simplify things in front of goal.

Not just in front of goal. In fairness we've been crying out for some creativity for years but at the moment he's trying too hard to beat a man every time even when the simple ball is better option. He'll learn though <ok>

I would say Dalglish is the perfect manager for Suarez - if Kenny can instill a 10th of his ruthlessness Suarez could be scary good.

I feel that away from goal he often doesn't get enough support from midfield, and often gets a bit stranded, so all he can do is try twist and turn his way through alone.

Suarez definately needs to know that penalties are generally better done simple.

Yeah but you watch a guy like Silva play in the hole and he knows exactly when to hold up the ball so support from midfield will arrive <ok> like I say all it needs is hard work from the lad and more experience and he will be an awesome weapon for us.

    well not really....

first off garcia used to annoy me by trying ti on all the time anywhere even in his own half and dangerously. then he'd go socre one like juve... remember?

benayoun came i nand didn't do that but also rarely produced the same magic.

So for me there's two things about suarez... first he must continue to try things cos it adds that moment of magic to a game. secone when he's not doing that but just being lax with a pass etc well that needs to be cut out.

    trying a flick = good.
15 yard lay off going out of play or 10 yards away from intended team mate = bad.

suarez has magic and awareness that others need to ge tin tune with and gamble on abit and he''ll continue to be great as long as he plays without fear.

Tbh, if an extravagant flick or an ambitious shot comes off everyone calls it genius- if it doesn't the same people say "just do the simple thing".
It's the unorthodoxy of players like Suarez that make them such a nightmare for defenders. I'm happy for him to keep experimenting (as long as it's up the field) and leave the likes of Dirk to do the solid stuff. I'm sure he'll learn what works and what doesn't, given time.
I agree about the penalty business though -don't piss about there.

I do find it annoying when he passes first time when he could just hold the ball up, turn and then pass. First time flicks are very good when he puts a player through to run onto but most of the time he's just flicking for the sake of it.

But having said that, when he does keep the ball, he somehow manages to wriggle his way through and create something. His impact has diminished over the past couple of months due to the race row which would be distressing.

I do feel that he's more comfortable when playing with Kuyt (Dutch connection) and Maxi (Spanish speaking) and it was evident at the end of the last season when they played brilliant together.

This ^ <ok> I think he said once that defenders struggle with what he's going to do because half the time, he doesn't know himself. <laugh>

    I agree with this.
I think Kuyt is better with the short passing game to unlock defences because he lacks the pace to go past people, and Maxi is good at finding space in the box. Combining this with Suarez's ability to wriggle out of a tight space gave us an attack that was exciting and effective.
Unfortunately, I expect we'll lose Maxi soon because of lack of game time, and possibly Diggler as well.

Maxi is gone at the end of the season regardless, remember?

I guess its all been said. It can be frustrating but at the moment he doesn't have the connection with players like mentioned.

We need to find a system and stick to it, short term mixed with long term, at the moment we're trying too hard with the long term. Andy Carroll and Jordan Henderson shouldn't start every game just because they are young, they should be slowly integrated into the team.

I suggest at least one of the following; Kuyt, Bellamy or Maxi to start each game. Otherwise we're just throwing the youngsters into the deep end.

Slightly off topic but I don't think its entirely Suarez's fault, he doesn't receive the right amount/type of support because of the players around him, forcing him to make brave decisions (Bar penalties)

lil_j.. i'd agree with that sentiment on the gorunds that bellamy is doing well and better than the others... and kuyt will give something when called upon... but i think really we're only a short way into the grand planso there is no-one else bar spearing, henderson, carroll to turn to in specific positions.

I would hope we'll improve radically this summer again... but am looking to the league next and hope we pick up some results fast.

I would say his finishing overall has been poor.

However his build up and general play has been very good.

He's not far off i've got no worries about that. He could also do with a bit of help from a striker partner too.

His finishing this season has been extremely poor but I remember his short spell at the end of last season and almost every one of his shots would be threatening and accurate.

I still feel that if Luis is going to be played as the main striker, then he needs to be playing with the likes of Maxi, Kuyt and Bellamy as their games are based on short quick passing and good movement.

In that situation he should have laid it off for Bellamy. His biggest problem is having support in the right place, Carroll ****s me off with his positioning sense. I also miss having Midfielders flooding the box.

Great player Suarez but a 20 rather than 30 goals a season man.

Suarez is a vastly over rated footballer, a cheat, a racist, a kicker, an elbower and a diver. His contribution for Liverpool this season has been average (when he has been available), he should be sold to Spain and replaced with Rodallega.
