Had to reply yesterday to put a Leicester poster right on their forum who'd claimed "Cardiff are another big physical side" in his comment about the upcoming game. I said that clearly didn't what he was talking about and that apart from Huds, Turner and Connolly at the back, all the the usual regulars in front of them are in fact quite a small bunch of players and probably none of them are over 5' 10". Even our frontman Helguson is only 5' 10" and Bellamy about a foot shorter. Then I thought I'd better check my facts with the official site before shooting off at the lip again and was staggered. Apparently, Conway is 6' 2". I thought I must be 8' 4" now, but I've just checked and what a relief - I'm actually still normal at around the 6ft mark. I can't understand why Malky hasn't played Conway as a target man yet.
I take most stats with a pinch of salt. Some of these guys must have been measured at a 70s retro party with their platforms on. Also, they can only weight them once as even when a player balloons he still gets posted with his fighting weight. I know height doesn't vary but I still wouldn't trust them to have their facts straight.
I spotted that last season and the club still haven't changed it. If Conway is 6 ft 2 then I'm Father Christmas and preparing for a busy night shortly. I think Mutch is 6 ft plus and Rudy is 6 ft 3 but the rest of them have auditioned for panto parts in Snow White. I guess the Leicester fan's comments are based on our goal success from set pieces which is due mainly to Whitt's delivery and training ground tactics coming to the fore in matches. If he thinks our guys are big, has he seen the Wendies' team yet?
I told them in my post that there could be an exception to our general lack of player height in front of our back four. I advised them that if Rudy was brought on as a sub, their CBs would need step ladders.

OK, I can wait until May for us. I'll just have to fantasise until then. Talking of fantasising, do you think you can hang on to that Dwight Gayle fella?
I did say May FOR US. Clearly size doesn't matter when it comes to that Gayle lad. We gave him a lot of space chasing the game, but nevertheless, he looked very sharp and should have had a hat trick on Saturday. Quick and direct is something we lack at the moment - hoping Malky can put that right in January.
Minxy - when you visit over here, half the Cardiff members become very stiff, and I'm not talking about arthritis. The other half have erectile dysfunction. For my part, I enjoy football and I also enjoy the other, but often find they don't mix. Trying to slide tackle the opposition with a stiffy on can be very dangerous. Please don't encourage mass peniscide on the forums.
