Reduce their likelyhood of sale or their ressale value? Seems to be a bit pig headed when we may need to play luke or betty if we pick up injuries.
If they need to play you can issue a squad number then. It'll have no effect on their values, even if you'd issued them numbers it would have been crap numbers that gave away you wanted shot of them so from the outside there'd be no difference.
