I don't know why, but I feel that we're still in for a big money Marquee signing.

I'd like to think it's an attacking player, perhaps Aguero or Rossi. Although my head tells me it will be a player like Lavezzi.

We're also still to sign a LB I think we'll go for before the season starts, and since the linking with the Colombian CB I have a feeling we still want a defender.

What do you think about the transfer sagas still to go?

I'm not convinced we will spend big on a player (30+ mill) until next year.

I think this year is about plugging the holes all over our squad and giving it depth.

LB and maybe a young striker like Jeffren - these won't be cheap, but I don't see us going and buying somewone like Aguero.

    Where would he go?

I'd be happy for us to buy a wonder player though!

The way the club site was acting about Downing I think that he's it.

Do we need a so called "marquee" signing? (I hate that phrase)

Kenny has shown so far he's building a team, no superstars just high quality players. Although any fan would love to see a Snjieder,Messi or someone like that in there club's shirt, as shown by Real Madrid a few years back that doesn't guarentee success.

Having a team, that plays just like that A TEAM is more important than having a team set up to massage some superstars fragile ego.

NO, followed swiftly by WHY? We are building a squad so why do we need a name? Surely we already have BIG NAME players - Gerrard, Reina and Suarez. Plus we have a crop of maturing players - Lucas, Carroll, Henderson who can go on to be star names. After that we have a whole crop of youngsters - some of whom have already proved that they have what it takes to become stars in the future.

Let others chase the BIG names whilst we make the BIG names:emoticon-0100-smile

Absolutely agree apart from a youg talented replacement for the Dirkulator. He's got a year or two at most left.

I have to agree with Ze Liverbird.

Its not that we feel the signings aren't good enough, its just to kind of shift that nervy feeling you get when you look at the team sheet from say a Chelsea or Arsenal fan's perspective.

Yes we are filling the plugs but we still need a left-back and a central defender in my opinion.

Little dissapointed when Commolli said on Sky Sports News that we're nearing the end of our transfer activity.

I'm still convinced we're two players short of nailing top four.I reckon if we get in a centre back and a left back..top four will be a formality and possibly beyond. We're a little bit away from our 2009 level however not as far as we were in January.

I think we are done in this market as far as buying goes anyway unless a steal came along
We don't need a Marquee deal we want players that are hungry to show their talent and become big names
And that is what Kenny has been bringing in. I'm confident that Kenny knows what he is doing

We haven't shifted the deadwood yet so that could be limiting what can still be done in the market.

I think a big name would be good PR for FSG with those fans who haven't been happy with any of the signings so far.

If there's a good CD out there at the right kind of money then buy. After that, we have more than a very useful squad any january is not too far away. Concnetrate of geting rid of the 'deadwood'.

I think a left back will come in. I think they are working on that right now. Remember they tried to sign Clichy, and are still heavily linked with Enrique and Cissoko. I think maybe a few promising youngsters could come in to. Efforts were made to sign Phil Jones and Conor Wickham remember, who I think were players in positions that Dalglish and Camolli strongly felt needed improving.

Id bring in a striker, preferable 21 or younger, but ready to take part now. If one or two of Carroll, Suarez or Kuyt get injured it will cause big problems. Problems with have seen far to often in recent years.

Just so you lot haven't got the wrong end of the stick - I'm talking about individual talent. Downing, Henderson and Adam will all improve the squad and the first team immensely, but they all contribute to chances made. None of them will particularly improve shirt sales straight away, and they don't have some impressive unseen flair about them.

Suarez was in my books a marquee signing, and would anyone here say he wasn't a good buy? I don't care if the player is £7m or £70m, I just think we'll get a quality individual player, someone who can come off the bench and change a game.

I don't think Liverpool need players to increase shirt sales. As they have already made the ''wow factor signing''.They did so in January...He's called Luis Suarez. They replaced one in Torres with another in Suarez.Standard Chartered at the time said they were slightly worried when Torres left as the ''wow factor player'' had gone. However they were impressed with how quickly Liverpool signed Suarez who has that same ''wow factor''.So overall I don't think Liverpool need players to increase shirt sales.

We were extreemely fortunate with Suarez - a star player who is prepared to play with and for the team. The problem with most 'star' players is that they expect the team to be built to play around them. They bring a lot of baggage. OK you get PR and increased shirt sales but you also risk de-stabilising the squad.

    Dave.
    You're 100% right.
In other words a bit like Torres.
Torres didn't play for a TEAM....Torres played for Torres.
My belief is that Luis Suarez is of a small nunber that believes there is ''no I in team''.
Although most people expect the current Liverpool side to be built around Luis Suarez, not for one minute will you expect him to say that.He is as hard-working and unselfish as he is skillful. His assist return from January to May was incredible. He will create and score the same amount of goals.

You will see over time Suarez has his own baggage. You don't bite players if you aren't a bit loony in the head:) I am surprised someone didn't snap him up before we did though, fkn great signing!

    BBF.
I wouldn't say Suarez carries baggage,I reckon he's was over enthusiastic. He seems to be that sort of a player.I read somewhere that he doesn't arrive at training on time after international duty...he turns up early. He's a joy to behold,I reckon there is other players out there that should follow his lead.

Good point. I wonder if we have any troubles with him.

Not bothered if he does it for us.
