Does anyone believe that we are capable of changing things?

I am starting to think that anything and everything coming out of Ashton gate can be taken with a pinch of salt. We hear all this rubbish about this and that and yet nothing ever happens on the positive side to change our fortunes.

Like a lot of others I really thought things were going to change for the better under our new manager but everyhting about BCFC has made an even wider turn in to trouble when you factor in all aspects about the way the club is run. Finances in a total mess combined with new players who for some inexplicable reason haven't met their expectations based on the fact that they aren't getting playing time. That situation beggars belief especially when you consider that the main mandates for Derek was to reduce salaries and improve the on-field product.

Our fall from grace continues at an alarming rate and I am concerned as to where we will end up in the long term. The only people who have the key to our future are coming up with rhetorical stuff in saying that there are a lot of things going on behind the scenes but still the problems that are so evident still go on unabated.

Supporters are starting to lose faith in what's going on behind the scenes and would much prefer to see these efforts happening out in the open, preferably on the pitch.

McInnes said what any manager would of said. IMO no we won't get out of this mess and will be relegated. I was a lot more confident last season hence why I made that bet. This year I wouldn't do no such thing as the bottom 5 will remain how it is all season. Which will see us Barnsley and Peterborough relegated.

improve? improve what? we can improve our pies and thats about it at this club..

Nothing will improve until we ship out about 20 of our players, our useless staff and our inept manager

A decent captain, a competent centre-half is all we need. Then we will turn things around.
Will we get them? Probably not

All teams have bad runs,we've been there before, our players are of a much better quality than our lowly position suggests,I honestly believe we will start to get better results..

Like the vast majority I will wait until January, then I will howl like others...

We seem to forget going into the game against Florest last year we were all thinking we were down. Something changed Del got a defender HE wanted.

    So yes things can change!

YES, yes, yes. It's going to be very hard, but we can stay in the Championship.

I don't think yesterday's game shows us anything about whether we can turn this round.
We didn't score from open play. Their 2nd goal epitomised the problem - the player waltzed through the
midfield unopposed just like against Wolves. Any decent team would have beaten us in that game.
I was as happy as anyone else that we got the points but don't kid yourself - we were lucky.
I don't believe one defender can tun this around - for me it is more about how the team is organised
and plays (or doesn't) as a unit. I agree with Shniy that it will be Posh, Us and Barnsley to go down.
The clubs that were the bookies favourites at the start of the season - and they make money
out of getting these things right more often than not.

When is it that some people are going to realise that you can play any formation you like, if some aren't up to it, IT WON'T MAKE A BLIND BIT OF DIFFERENCE. The manager can't wave a magic wand and turn our players into YaYa Toure and Puyol.

The old, work hard and very little else mentality is slowly being erased, starting from the youngsters (who are in the long run, by way the most important part of this club) upwards - by next summer, we will have the equivalent of a new club with only those good enough from the old guard left and not those that we HAVE to play...

and NO, we WON'T go down this year...

Didn't Del say that he prefers to play 4-4-2 but felt that at St Johnston he had more faith in his defence to play that way. He also says that he wanted some players but their demands are too high.
He knows what he wants just a shame that he is judged on defensive players that were here previously and the only ones that want to come are loanee's that their club don't want.
And before people blab on about blowing his wad on forwards, he also says he got them for a small fee which we can only speculate on. Plus look at yesterday I bet he wished he still had a fifth striker, as we played with no attacking forwards as subs yesterday.
I know what some think he is a clown, we went cheap blah blah blah. But at the moment he can only play with the players he has and those who wanted to come to us.
I suspect the ones he got took a lot of persuading. In January as he says we should see some new faces and some departing, then perhaps he will have the defenders and midfielders that he feels will be better suited to 4-4-2 that most are crying out for.
We all keep saying he should be playing Anderson D.Wilson etc but unfortunetely we only see the players for 90 minutes whilst he see's them day in day out. Yesterday for instance on OTIB the board went crazy when the team came out with no Davies until it was announced he was injured so strangely enough someone is probably looking at these boards to feel that they need to put out these announcement's.
I agree with everything Prem has said about the academy, without it in a few years we would be ****ed because as it is at the moment players are turning us down for other teams.

Yes we will see change, just unfortunetely that we are in for a roller coaster period flirting with relegation and perhaps we won't escape it this year. But come January transfers we should know more of Del to see if he is what we hoped he could be. If more defenders and midfielders turn us down who's fault is that his or the club's?

McInnes is the most public manager we've had since Coppell (although he doesn't really count).

McInnes is always there to talk to the media, and he seems fairly keen to address any shortcomings with the squad. I think any further success will be down to how he publicly addresses his team going forward. Quite frankly, I'd like to see a few names dragged through the mud to see if it improves their performances. I want McInnes to be as critical of his side as some of us have been on here, instead of throwing cliches around about how disappointed he is, or how we switched off at the start but improved near the end.

I want McInnes to sit in front of the BBC and say Fontaine couldn't defend for ****, Carey needs to buck his ideas up if he wants that record, Elliot needs to learn to pass a ****ing ball and so on. The one trait I've not liked about Bristol City managers is that they've been more than happy to fall on their sword. McInnes must know that his reputation is being dragged through the mud, so he needs to tell his players that if they are going to under-perform then they'll be the ones the fans and the media will be slating.

McInnes may or may not be the best manager for the job right now, but I believe things will change if McInnes straps on a pair and tells his players to ****ing show that that are of sufficient quality for this league.

    Ender

    I'm with you.

The likes of Millen would always give a mealy mouthed reply to the media after a poor performance, and in doing so almost defender it, but no-one can accuse Del of not being honest when it's needed. I like that.

He is my man for the job
