Does anybody know?

I asked this the other day, but why is it that on a clock 4 is represented as IIII, but every where else, it is IV? And who is Trev?

 

I am Trev, Nev, Dev and Tuna.

I don't even know the answer which makes it worse. To be honest I don't think anybody knows. I heard it years ago and the best they could come up with was, it would be easier to recognise, which is daft to say the least.

 

It's IIII so as not to confuse stupid people.

 

There are a few theories, but no one knows for sure.

 

Come on now Stereo, play nice. I genuinely want to know the answer.
