Does any one wish we still had any of the players who have left in the last 2 years?

Any one you or our team misses?

Mascherano and Torres. Masch, as we are sorely missing Lucas in that position, and we are desperatley missing Torres' goals (though not his sulks). If we'd had those 2 this season, we'd be challenging now.

Wouldn't want 'Nando unless he remembers where the goal is.
Mascher definitely, but we'd have to gag him. He was never happy unless he'd got at least one card a game and he earned a lot of them with his gob. Could do with his bite in midfield, though.

I'm pretty sure if Torres was still here, he'd be scoring goals.

I wouldn't want either Masch or Nando back. Lucas and to a lesser extent Spearing have proved that you don't always need to 'bite' in order to successfully command midfield. So Masch would be a bit of a dinosaur in the way we now play. As for Nando, I just wouldn't trust him to give his all for our cause.

I see what your saying, but the OP asked about what the team is missing. Love him or hate him, we are undoubtedly missing Torres goals. I agree with your thoughts about Masch too, all I'm saying is if we had him in the squad now, we wouldn't be missing Lucas as much, therefore less impact on the rest of the side. i.e. Adam seems to have gone backwards since Lucas got injured.

That was my initial thought too. But after I thought about it for a while, I cam to the conclusion that I posted. However, I do understand your thoughts.

No one. Those who've left in the last 2 years either were crap or didn't care enough about the club.

Torres, if we hadn't let him go he would be scoring, and with the amount of chances we create scoring for fun.
Can't help but think getting rid of Meirles and Aquilani was a mistake, as these two are a much stronger midfield than Henderson/Adam/Spearing v Arsenal

Has to be Torres really, the Torres Suarez partnership was the way forward and who knows where we could be right now if we had them. Maybe Mierles and Arbeloa( not sure if that is 2 years or no), just for quality depth, not much really, just shows how dross our buys have been.

Can't accept your last statement. So, according to you Suarez is dross, Enrique is dross, Henderson is dross, Coates is dross. I'll accept that Downing, Carroll and Adam have not performed as well as expected this season but they too are far from being dross!

Read again Dave, not saying anything about our current buys and players that are here, but you name me more than maybe Masch, meireles and Torres on who you would have back and our buys over the past two years ( before the KK era mainly) have been bad. Cole, Jovanovic, Poulsen, konchesky, the aussie goalie, aqua ( never healthy and never wanted to be here).

I like the ones you have named and Johnson as well ( that 17 mil was harped on all the time). Just saying there has been just as many bad buys and shows that we would only have maybe 2 back.

Sorry Bluff, I misread your meaning.

Your listing above though does read like we have been capable of buying some right dross ;)

The only saving grace is that apart from maybe City, all of our opponents appear to have the same capability!

It's all good, I know being out on the boat with a caipirinha in hand and the sun shining whilst your girl/wife/etc tops you off, it is hard to read between the lines <ok>

<laugh> ya man, I really wish instead of playing Carra right now we would play Coates, he has done it at a high level at the international stage against some of the world's best, I think he can handle the prem. Would love to see him and Skrtel together.

obviously yes but 2 years as pointed out is too short... alonso, maschernao and torres are obvious misses but only one had the attitude you'd want back and thats alonso.

all in all risse, arbeloa, and a few others left before we got all we could out of them but hey....

Man this is almost as bad as imagining what you'd do with the euromillions.
