The BBC have reported that a champions league match in the UK was rigged.

    Question is:

Which dodgy team has been involved with match fixing......(I really hope it is not us, just as we look to be geting somewhere.)

Has to be one of six: Spurs, Liverpool, man Utd, Man City, Arsenal or Chelsea.

    Who could it be?

My first thought relates to Hary Enfields 'I buy It' take on Roman Abramovich...lol

But we did used to be owned by proper cowboys

    Who could it be

Would love Chelsea's European cup to be taken away from them but I fnd it unlikely that an English club is actually involved in the bribing. More likely a referee or a small European team involved.

It has to be a low life club like Chelsea or Manu.

It said it was a game that happened in England. I reckon it must have been either the away team or the referee.

The list of clubs it could be are huge.

Maybe we should be looking at huge under dogs who beat PL opposition or games with huge refereeing calls.

Wonder what the odds were on that game, or on Chelsea getting a penalty right when they needed it.

    Just wondering... <whistle>

P.S. You guys shouldn't be worried. The report said last three or four years, so it almost certainly doesn't concern you <ok>

It would seem more likely to be a small dodgy eastern European team or a dodgy ref. But I wouldn't put it past Roman Abramovic.

It could be us the report suggests Initially involved Germany, Finland and Hungary, before being extended to Slovenia and Austria. In 2009/10 we played Debrecen of Hungary.

Some terrible assumptions being made here.

Just because the game was played in England it doesn't mean that an English side is implicated in any wrong doing.

The away side could have been bunged to concede in both halves, lose a penalty, not score, etc etc

My money would be on a smaller side from Eastern Europe being the accused.

Except the fact that we played in the champions league in 2009 and 2010.

    13-9 = 4

    Rapier insight. <ok>

Not read the article but who says it was in favour of an English club?
The stand out one to me that appeared to be dodgy was the semi final in favour of Barcelona against Chelsea.

Always thought Chelsea were completely ripped off that night.
