    Docherty leaves Ashton Gate

Assistant manager relieved of his duties.

Tony Docherty has left Ashton Gate, the club has announced.

The Scot, 41, was Derek McInnes' assistant throughout his 15 months in charge, but has also been relieved of his duties.

Jon Lansdown, Football MD, said: "We wish Tony well for the future."

McInnes lost his job in the wake of Saturday's 4-0 home defeat to Leicester City which left the club bottom of the npower Championship.

I'm glad he's gone, not because I don't like him or anything but I always feel the assistant should only stay if the previous manager left because he was doing well and snapped up. Not when the manager failed in his job as you normally find the assistant is also the failure <ok>
