Do you think we will have a new striker in for the big kick off?

A simple poll to see how confident you are that we will have a new striker in by the City game....

 

My vote is for NO.
I really can't see it happening at all (hope I'm wrong).

 

Also voted no, simply because there seems on the face of it to be to little real desire and commitment to securing anyone. I know we have been linked to all and sundry, but it's looking more and more like "blowing smoke" to be honest.
Really hope I'm wrong, and even if l am, it's getting late in the day, should have had any new recruits signed, participating in pre-season and settled long before Man City.

 

I've gone yes. Not confident at all but I'm working on the basis its insane not to.

 

I voted no but my actual prediction is that we will have a striker on the books but he will have been signed too recently to play.

 

I voted "no". Maybe it's 'cos it's Monday, but waking to find Villa refuting Kinnear's comments have left me a bit deflated. All seems a bit weird (again). Gomis somehow being the only player in the entire World who can cause a fortnight's delay on a transfer for reasons unknown. Villa having never received an offer from us for Bent. The comments from Kinnear about a "second hit list" (aren't we on to the second list given the failure in chasing Aubameyang?). It's all a bit too "Luuk De Jong" and not enough "Yohan Cabaye".

I have said no. I think we will get someone in but not ready to play city. I think they are working hard. The issue is that the boards priority will always be what the correct business decision is for them...Does it make financial sense?? Can we wait a bit longer to drive the price down?? The need of the team will always be secondary. If their decision turns out to be the right one or not based on league position etc is anyones guess.

Almost certainly, however I'm not so sure about the Gomis move happening and think we'll actually sign Bent which I personally think will end up a better move than a lot of people think. Pardew knows Bent well having worked with him before and obviously feels he can get him to perform for us.
