We at Sunderland were the poor relations in northeast football, our mates from the south in the boro looking at European football and our best mates from up the road trying for the title. Oh how I recall that man Keegan speaking so eloquently about how he would love it, just love it.

In those days all we poor Sunderland fans could do, to feel near to success, was to trawl our neighbours forums, trying to give a little abuse, just to try and make us feel better.

How proud are we of the restraint our neighbours now show, we sit at the near summit of the premier league and sign players of champion league status.

Do we see them trawling our forums, surely not.
Do they try to throw abuse, never, not they.

I only hope we can show the same respect if ever we fall again and have to recruit the mighty Perch.

Let them bang on about their dubious history (How many league titles? When was the last one? When was the last major trophy for that matter?) We hold all the cards and the "Geordie nation" can't bare it.

Let them argue history. The futures all ours.....

If they tried to bite it would be like a tick biting a panther.

    A slight irritant, nothing more.

Only trouble Syd is that the "bubble" could burst at anytime...... i'm enjoying riding the crest of this wave but we are a long way from being the completed article...... we still seem to like loanees rather than owning our playing assets.... and whilst my passport and weekend bag is on standby there is still a few games we need to win...... FTM :=)

Onwards and upwards. Good to hear we are looking to extend Gordon and Malbranque's contracts too.
