Do we want to ban john hughs?

Before I start can I say I'm not for banning anyone, but if he can't control himself and keeps returning to abuse people then it's at least something to think about. Would anyone miss him?

 

I have floated a suggestion on another thread re the possible banning of anyone who we,collectively, deem to be continually disrupting this Board,for no other reason than their own amusement.

We are all aware of certain individuals who have agendas which do not fit in with the ethos of this Board. By and large we are a gregarious,welcoming group,indeed,visittors from other Clubs take great pains to tell us how much they admire and respect Swansea City,and it's supporters,and that's us,by the way.

I feel the time has come to be a little proactive,and send a message that this is a Board that will welcome,and respect, guests,but it's a two way street.

After some consideration,I think we should consider banning orders.

How to do it,fairly?

I don't think banning should fall on the shoulders of the mods.

I feel that everyone should have a say in this process,and am posting this thread to find out if there is a concensus of opinion about my suggestion.

The ban,of course,doesn't have to be sine die,but any banned person would have to give an assurance that,should he/she/they wish to be allowed back on this Board,they would need to adhere to the behaviour code that we would have in place.

This doesn't have to be a complcated procedure,but I feel the time has come,so let's clean up this Board,and as our most recently appointed moderator,Jager,has stated elsewhere,let's have some fun.

I await your replies/suggestions,at your earliest convenience.

While I agree he takes wumming to a new level you lot give him the attention he craves, you are all constantly creating threads and now a poll about him and as you have all seen he has fairly thick skin and will just keep coming back.

Perhaps you should all just collectively agree to use the ignore button.

 

Sorry Scott,I have started a thread entitled "Banning",which I set up before seeing this.

I would definitely ban jh,and profit.

 

This'll never cure it I don't think, unfortunately. Plus, he's never contributed anything worthwile and consistently tries to derail conversations. I don't see why he shouldn't be banned. Personally, I ignore him but if the majority want him banned that's fair.

 

Why is a Cardiff supporter voting on this issue?

 

I already have,Scott,but so has a Cardiff supporter. Do we really want his peers having the opportunity to have their say?

Surely,this should be structured to ensure only Swansea votes count. Just a thought,not criticism.

 

Vetch, its interesting that your quite proactive in suggesting banning people considering if the same type of poll was started on the Cardiff board your name would most likely get the 2nd most votes. The content of some of your Josef Goebbels comments to Proph would in most peoples opinions be enough to ban you.

 

I voted on that poll, simply as its laughable you all moan about him but you all constantly react to all his posts, even ones he creates on the Cardiff board. Post after post is created on the Swansea board about him.

 

Because its a public forum and you cant stop me, unless you want to ban me.

Personally Vetch I would happily see Swansea ban John Hughs from the Swansea board as long as yourself and a certain other Swansea fan was banned from our board which if I started a poll right now on the Cardiff board im ceratin most would be in favour of.

 

Thing is cityace you come here and post, yes you are a Cardiff fan but nobody is suggesting you get banned, why is that ? Is it because you may wum but do offer comments on here that is open to discussion ?

As I pointed out I will not vote on this, but if a majority want a ban on certain people that is up to them, one thing for people thinking of this, there is possibility that a new username will be created to disrupt again, moderation does work if the moderators are singing from the same hymn sheet.

 

I just find it hypocrtical that Vetch is suggesting someone gets banned from the Swansea board considering he would be one of the first names on the list if a similar poll was created on the Cardiff board.

As I pointed out Jager, perhaps this boards constant reaction to John Hugh is helping to create the monster that you all despise.

 

I dont see any other opt.ion. he bombards this forum with insults and lies. he ruins any good debate or topic raised on here. Whilst i enjoy the banter and occassionally the support shared between our clubs this guy is simply an abusive idiot. this site will be a better place without him.

As i stated in the poll i would not ban any individual but i would like to see some sort of cencorship if someone overstepped the mark
