I'm worried that if Everton go fourth the cash injection from the European cup will help fund better players purchases for next season. I like Everton but I see them as club we need to out perform next season to progress?
And there isn't a Don't Care option yet again. Tell you what: ☑ Don't Care Oh, all right, if I must, Everton.
Doesn't make much difference to me, I suppose if Everton were to finish fourth they would most likely have to beat us this weekend, so in that case - Arsenal.
If Everton come 5th, we have a good chance of finishing above them next season because of the Europa League.
Good point, I'd forgotten to factor the EL into the equation. Definitely Arsenal in that case, Everton will have a job on to both replace Lukaku and to fill out their squad to compensate for European football which would be made harder by missing out on the rewards of the CL. In those circumstances with a good summer we could finish ahead of them, whereas Arsenal I think will best us either way.
As long as we beat Everton I am not that bothered. All right then Arsenal, but only coz they play in red.
I saw the title of this thread, and did initially think 'who cares', and didn't even entertain the thought of even having a look at it. But then the point about us vs Everton next season did start to cross my mind, as it clearly has with others on here. Everton in the Europa League = lots of Thursday-Sunday weeks, not too much extra revenue to compensate, door maybe open for us take advantage. Everton in the Champions League = lots of additional revenue, greater attraction for top players to join them, chance for them to really progress. And as a very minor side note, there is of course the above point that for Everton to get into the CL, it would mean them beating us (almost certainly) on Saturday!
It will severly screw up Arsenal financially, to not make the CL. So thats why my vote goes to Everton! Lol
Arsenal...****ing hate Everton. (Because of Bailey and Adrian Heath). I have no reason to dislike Arsenal as they have two very good English players whom I like very much!
Have gone for Arsenal...supported them because it's my ex's team (but I won't hold that against them). My teams in order of preference are Saints.........................................................................................................................................................Arsenal/Liverpool.
Bailey He rarely played against us at the Dell. Always having a mysterious injury that miraculously cleared up! What used to make me laugh was that anyone called Bailey would get stick from the crowd and would have had no idea why. For you younger 606ers…..its a long story!
I would like Everton to finish above Arsenal because they have been slowly building a coherent project, with some seriously talented home-grown youngsters, for years. And having brought in a stylish new young manager, are having unexpected success. For them to finish above an established top-four club with an old tired manager who only poaches young talent from (one) smaller club(s), would bring a smile to my face. And I like to think that it might become a trend...
