<peacedove>Everton is playing Sunderland at home tonight, while our own game against Blackburn is tomorrow night.
We are playing Everton in the FA cup semi-final on Saturday 14th of April.Everton are going to have one more day rest. Do you think Kenny should rest some key players tomorrow as we are unlikely to finish 4th or 5th in the league this season.??? <ok>

No, We need to finish higher than Everton in the league AND beat them in the cup. We still have a target in the league

    Blackburn

    -----------------------Doni---------------------
    --Flanagan--Skrtel---------Agger--Enrique--
    --Shelvey-Henderson---Gerrard--Bellamy--
    ------------Carroll---------Suarez-------------

    Everton

    ----------------------Doni--------------------
    -Johnson*--Skrtel--------Agger--Enrique-
    --Kuyt----Gerrard-----Spearng--Downing-
    -------------Suarez-----Carroll--------------

    *if fit

Not resting players. Intelligent rotation. TBH apart from defence and Suarez our team isnt established enough for it to be seen as resting players.

    We shouldn't.

We are in a very poor run of form and we need some results. Quickly.

We can't afford to rest players, lose at Blackburn and then go into the semi-final in even worse form and the squad even lower on confidence.

Players such as Carroll, Maxi, Henderson and in a way Suarez need a good game to go to Wembley in the best run shape of mind possible. So no, I don't think we should.

    Rest them?

Nah,until they learn to do their jobs properly you work the bollocks off them, otherwise your rewarding failure.
They get the best of food, medicines and healthcare, they get paid many grands a week to play on average 180 minutes a week.

Moyes at Everton has won no trophies during his 10yr reign but his teams during those years would run through brick walls for him and EFC if required and that will be the case on saturday.
What ever team we turn out in the semi should be told they're playing for their career at LFC and they are playing for not only Kenny and the club but also us who have in the main stuck by them during this season despite their 'poor' form in the league.

Saturday isn't just about a place in the final its about local pride and about keeping our season alive until the end.

one day cannot and should not make one scrap of difference to our team.

the only players who should be rested (or dropped) are carragher and gerrard.

we should get a win to boost oursevles not go play a scratch side, get handed our heads and then have all the pressure coming in to the semi... especially as everton won 4-0..

No, apart from Gerrard and Carra as someone mentioned. Actually, only Gerrard...Carra shouldn't be rested...he should be dropped. We need to win this.

Rest who? I don't know a player that's bust a gut enough to need a rest. A place on the semi first 11 should be a reward for the players that put the effort in tonight.

Seriously, have you seen a player in our shirt (that isn't currently injured) that's been SO good this year you would have to say "don't risk him"?

One minute we're criticizing KD for using tiredness as an excuse for bad performances now we're talking about "resting" players.

If this group of players rested anymore they'd go into hibernation! Bunch of big girls blouses who hide behind the manager and heads drop because the other team dare to score first after 20 minutes of our lot pinging it anywhere but the net. They all need to grow up & man up.

It's why I'm down right angry with Gerrard at the mo. I'm sick of him being described as "Captain Fantastic" because he busts a gut and rescues us in one match every now and then. A Liverpool captain should be doing that for 38 games a season. And if you can't .......

I've never subscribed to this "players are tired" business.
Jaded psychologically perhaps, but physically tired? Come off it.
