according to daily mail, Sir Alex is searching a new GK, as they claim he he instructed his scouts to find him a new GK as they claim he has been fed up with both Gea and Lindergaard failure to handle the physical side of PL.

i don't believe that personally as I think Sir Alex signed Gea for a long term, but given that Sir Alex has only 2-3 seasons left in his career as a UTD Boss.. this kind make a sense. Sir Alex then can possibly loan Gea out to get more regular games before coming back stronger to UTD while Sir Alex win some more trophies

so what do you think ? should we sign one?

I would prefer to see us offload Lindegaard to be honest, I just think he's average at best and would rather have Amos as the backup option.

I don't see the point in selling lindegaard. If we loaned him to someone an did ok we may at least get a decent fee for him. I also don't think he that bad. What bothers me is that he and de Gea are very young and keepers don't tend to peak til they are in their 30's.

So many keepers were shaky in their 20's and became much better the older they got I'm thinking of people like David James, freidel. Clearly there are exceptions here and there where young keepers have done well ie hart. But he still makes silly mistakes which you'd think would go the more experience they get.

f(u)ck sake, i wish the press would leave De Gea alone, why don't they have a go at their golden boy Joe Hart who by the way has made more errors than our keeper this season yet the press don't say nothing about him, if De Gea wins the league this season, it'll be the biggest '' f you'' to the press.

agree Lindegaard is just an obstruction right now into Gea development, he is offering nothing more ? it is really unnecessary competition
but is begovic the answer? i don't want to sign Reina .. he make lots of mistakes imo and he has Liverpool dirts all over him

I think begovic and mignolet are two of the best in the league at the moment i think. I don't watch European football to know anything about foreign keepers.

My dream keeper would have been that German national keeper.

If we bring in another keeper, we might as well sell De Gea. Bringing someone else in at this point will pretty much tell De Gea that you're not good enough. Honestly though, I'm positive that the Keeper rumors are just the press stirring ****.

It's funny that on all the opta stats De Gea is the best keeper in the league. He was top of those stats last season aswell.

I know stats don't tell the full story but surely they give an indication.

The press and pundits seem to have an agenda against the boy, brainwashing all us viewers into believing he's a poor keeper.

Yes he does flap at crosses, and he does punch a few things he should be catching, but he also makes alot of world class saves that very few keepers in the world would be able to make. I can think of countless times when I've thought to myself how on earth has he kept that out.

The ability is clearly there with the boy, and he must be given game time to develop. The decision making will improve with experience:biggrin:

To be fair I think he has been much better at dealing with crosses lately, the big problem now seems to be confidence when communicating with his defense, I say give the lad a good run in the team and he might just gain the confidence to start commanding his area and become more vocal.

That save from Carlton Cole's header I think was, heading for the top corner and De Gea flew up and caught it. Tht save was pretty sexy.

I think De Gea needs to be played as the established number 1 keeper, he's got the ability but the confidence and consitency won't come unless he's played regularly. He has played more frequently recently.

De Gea needs to be supported fully as number 1 and allowed to develop and get on with it.

By all means sell Lindegaard, who is average at best and **** at worst and for some reason is seen as a threat to De Gea's position. He shoudn't be seen as such and he's best out of the club in my opinion.

If we sell then De Gea will undoubtably, 100%, go elsewhere and develop into one of the very best goal keepers in world football and we'll be left searching for exactly that.

Stick with him, give him some beef and get him on the weights.

good god, De Gea has only been with us for a year and the press are already on his case, he'll prove them wrong, he's going to be a world-class keeper.

    agree on Lindegaard and Gea
meanwhile if we are selling Lindegaard, we will still need a good replacement in case Gea get injured

No point sending De Gea out on loan to get game time as he is already doing that in the first team. Lindegard is only playing the odd game. If he were to be loaned out, it would have to be for a 'struggling' team or a team with a worse defense than Utds, where he would get plenty of practise, or play Stoke every week. His shot stopping is very good and his communication skills and catching is slowly improving.
