Rumours are strong that we are close to sealing a deal for Harry Maguire of Sheffield United but I don think we need him, yes he is good highly rated young centre half but to be honest we have three or four of them ourselves, in terms of numbers we are fine in that position the only argument for another signing is that a lot of our players are young and unproven.

    Amorebieta
    Hutchinson
    Burn
    Burgess
    Donnelly

    Also
    Grimmer
    Hoogland

Well, I'm never going to complain about signing a good highly rated youngster, if the price is right!

However, I am getting the impression that Magath doesn't really fancy Burn. If he decides that Burn won't cut it, that would certainly explain the move for Maguire. Burgess and Donnelly are both excellent prospects but are a year or two away, in my opinion.

I think Grimmer will split time with Voser at right back and Hoogland provides what is now a very necessary injection of experience.

I don't think Burn has covered himself in glory in the matches he has played for Felix, at least from what I remember.

I think he has the talent to play in the Championship and do well. Premiership may be a different story but given the league we are in I would at least like to see him given a decent chance to prove he can cut it.

I suspect your both correct about Felix's thoughts on Dan Burn. He was particularly poor in the Stoke game Fulhaman but then many would say that it was poor by Felix, playing him at right back.

Whether we need another CB may equally hinge on the status of Amorebieta. That said, there seems to be stronger interest in Maguire coming from Hull and Wolves than from us.

I think Harry would be a great signing personally. I don't fully know what Fulhams squad is like for Center Backs but for me, Harry could be 3rd choice for a promotion challenging side.

And then of course there's a chance a top Premier League club will come in a few years down the line!

I'm not saying I don't think he would be a good signing In just saying to me he looks like a very good young centre halve with lots of potential who hasn't played at championship level yet so we don't know how he will get on but we already in our squad have 2 or 3 of our own very good young centre hLves with lots of potential who haven't played in the championship so we don't know how they will get on!

If Felix is intending to play with three at the back, then adding another one to the squad isn't a bad idea. I take the point about us already have a lot of promising players in that position, but he does sound like a useful addition. I won't be worrying about a lack of centre-backs if we miss out on him, but at the same time I'd be pleased if we sign him.

I'd like to see Dan Burn given his chance this season, but I suspect Fulhaman and Cottager might be right about Felix being unconvinced. A central trio of Burn (on the left), plus Hutchison and Maguire could be good, with Amorebietta, Grimmer, Burgess, Donnelly and Hoogland providing more than enough back-up. My one reservation about that starting trio is that there isn't a wiser, older head in there. Perhaps that's going to be Amorebieta, in which case Burn might well be part of the supporting cast.

The paradox that is Amorebieta - older but not convinced about the wiser!

Potentially, but he's a big lad and I think he'll struggle with the pace of the strikers in the Premier League. I was impressed with the other signing Hull made today - Andrew Robertson. A 20 year old Scottish left back. Has played over 80 competitive games in Scotland, has 2 full caps, was in the SPL team of the year and won SPL young player of the year last year. At £2.8 million he could turn out to be a great signing.
