I can't see any threads about the game tomorrow I thought there would be a buzz about Adkins first game I'm expecting an immediate improvement with all they players desperate to impress the new boss 2-0 win with no last minute jitters
I think there will still be last minute jitters if we are fortunate to be leading by the 81st minute.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42205340 Match facts None of the last 18 meetings between these teams in all competitions have ended as a draw - both sides have won exactly nine of those matches each. Brentford have lost their last two away league visits to Hull since they moved to the KC Stadium, last winning in September 1998 at Boothferry Park, triumphing 3-2. Hull have lost the joint-most Championship matches when they've scored the first goal this season (3, joint with QPR). Bees winger Ollie Watkins has created more chances (45) and had more shots (71) than any other Championship player this season. Both Hull and Brentford have conceded the most goals via set pieces in the Championship this season (12) - the Bees conceded twice from set pieces in the final minute of their last away game at QPR. The Bees have scored more goals in the last 15 minutes of Championship games this season than any other team (11).
Whoah, hang on a minute, don’t be too hasty to start kicking kicking balls around. We don’t want to ruin this sudden feel good factor... What about if we just play enough to score first then stop the game, and use the old HSE return to work excuse for Adkins. He’s been out for a year and a half and can’t expect him to put a full 90 minutes in. Obviously this relies on us scoring first....
Isn't the furthest Brentford have ever gone in the FA Cup the 6 th round when they lost 2-1 to Hull City at Boothferry Park in 65/66 ? or was it 70/71 ? Someone get Chris Eltons book out quickly. I was only at the game.

City didn't get to the semi-final in either of those seasons...they lost in the 6th round (Chelsea in replay @ B.P. and Stoke (B.P.) respectively.
We would have played them in the quarter final in 1989 if we' had hung on for the 2 v 1 win against Liverpool in Rd 5.
Read your question again. It implies they may have in one of the years you mention. PS: Read post 8 - it'll help answer your question and confirm my answer to your question.
That question has drifted across my mind on regular occasions across the years too Leon. What would have been?
It's a very fair question, another one has also haunted me for years, "why did the chicken want to cross the road in the first place", and I never been able to come up with a logical answer.
From memory, a form of PL had been on the cards for a while and I remember as a child there being regular talk of 'breakaway' leagues of the top 10 teams and other forms of a so called Super League. Again, from memory, I recall these being held off by promises of a greater share of the TV revenue for the top clubs. So, in short I think the PL or some incarnation would have happened. But would we have had the drive for all-seater stadia dogma? The move that many see as being a big factor in the changes to atmosphere and demographic? Remember, the goverment of the time certainly seemed to see football fans as an enemy, or was it just safety that was at forefront? To be fair, my memory/knowledge isn't strong enough to give a decent counterfactual answer - but I do see many possible paths from a non-Hillsborough disaster.
