Does anyone know if we have any money for the summer? I would like us to keep Mannone at the very least, but we could do with a forward. Although, we could build with frees and loans. Any more news on Jakupovic? Looks like he's the cheap option if we can't afford Mannone.
I know Mr Allam has already spent a fortune to rescue HCAFC and we all thank him for that, but as a shrewd businessman I can't see any sense in him turning off the financial support now. This squad desperately needs three or four quality additions and then we can seriously start talking about promotion and all of the commercial advantages that brings. However if we don't get those players I think we will be struggling to stay up next season, the crowds will drop and so the financial burden on the Allams will multiply.
I would say that Jakupovic was supposed to be an option alongside Mannone, but if we really wants to leave and we have nothing to spend then we could just loan him - yet again. I reckon that we might just loan 4 players, sign 2 on a free and maybe get one for an actual fee - this being if the rumours are true, and also if the massive clear-out thing that OLM's been telling us about is also true.
Nobody really knows what is happening with money, people like Burnsy like to think they do he came out saying 'I get the feeling there will be no money available in summer' but the truth is, he is just a prick and likes to think he knows more than he actually does.
I was impressed with Coventrys Oliver Norwood yesterday, another man utd academy player, could give us a bit of what were missing with Koren, might be worth a loan punt next season.
Said the exact same thing in the game itself, he is known as goalscoring midfielder, first time i have seen him myself, but i know he is handy at taking set pieces to normally. However that is all i know on the kid.
The lad's been at Scunny if I remember rightly, he's scored nearly 1 in 5 for Coventry which isn't bad from midfield.
When you piece all the bits together from the last few months,i think the pot looks pretty much empty. The club making redundencies throughout,Barms not strengthening in the summer(i know he said the money was there but didn't see the need to spend, but i suspect he was just towing the club line there) ! The pitch has been a mess but we did nothing about it. The Allams reportedly get richer year after year, but that's Allam money not Hull city a.f.c money, and Assem has spoke of the need for our club to become self sufficient. Which may be frustrating for us as fans but if that's the way it is,we will just have to be patient.Let's not forget the financial mess the last regime left the club in. I have a feeling the Allams really expected to see their plans for ownership of the K.C to come to fruition. They haven't of course so they won't now expect to see their investment back. No i don't think there will be any significant money to spend in the summer !
I think Burnsy and a few others are used by City to tell whatever story is currently convenient for the club's strategy. For instance if we did have a bob or two available for the summer and didn't want selling clubs / agents to know about it, what better way than to tell Burnsy we are poverty stricken and have him broadcast it across the airwaves? Sometimes people who think they know everthing, only know what they are supposed to tell.
