United scored 89 league goals last season. Four quality strikers already in Roon, Hernandez, Berb and Wellbeck. Plus United won't always play 4-4-2. If 4-2-3-1, will Kagawa play in the hole or Roon behind RvP
Berb is almost certainly leaving so United still have four quality strikers, and almost all of United's attacking players are very versatile and capable of playing a few different positions and formations, apart from Chicharito who is the classic fox in the box type of player.
Will first choice be Kagawa in the hole behind Rooney with RvP hernandez on the bench? Or Rooney behind RvP with Wellbeck Hernandez on the bench. I guess RvP Wellbeck kag and Roon can all play wide to rest Nani and valencia
Berba's leaving, like the others said... It's in the big games (Versus Chelsea, Liverpool, City) where having match winners is so important. And Van Persie's quality will shine. Van Persie showed last season how much of a match winner he can be... But there wont even be as much pressure on him here... I still hope we buy a centre mid... Even someone cheap... Depending on Fletchers chances of playing.. Someone with experience (possibly 30ish years old) and who is willing to do a defensive job in the tight games for a couple of years - Keita from Barca on the cheap possibly. A two year contract or something. We now have incredible options up top... And with Vidic back, we have another new signing....I'm excited. Our ability to be able to switch things up from week to week is looking great. Edit: Having just looked at Keita... He's just gone and joined some team in China.
Only Fergie can answer that question, Rooney, Nani and Welbeck have all played right across the United front line at some point, and Valencia has played very well as an attacking right back, Kagawa can also play pretty much anywhere along (or behind) the front line and can also play in the middle of the park so there is a lot of options.
Impossible to say. I would hope now with the options we have it was much more attack minded and not as subdued as it was last season.
I can say with certainty it won't contain an unfit Ji Sung Park so we know it'll be a vast improvement for a start. We'll be playing with 11 men instead of ten and a passenger.
Last season's was the most un-United like for a long time. How we nearly finished with the title, I'll never know. We went into the city match as underdfogs and we played like such. We got punished on every occasion in Europe. Hopefully this season will be different.
On paper a great signing, he is an addition not a replacement for a regular in Berb so this is aplus no matter what way you look at it, another option is what it is and RvP is a good option to have. The BBC article RvP goals, they dont get the small v btw, tards, his goals could win the title, what utter crap, the team could win the title goals dont alone teams do, look at Arsenal, many goals from RvP but not a chance of the title. This is nothing to do with United ^ Just the Beeb being tools again. A good player have and a good addition to the team. Can only be a plus, cant say more as I dont know more
You could hear a unified "Ahh balls" when the news came out, from opposing fans, that you signed him, says it all
I remember people asking if we really needed Yorke back in 1998 when we already had Cole, Sheringham and Solskjaer, and were lacking cover for Scholes and Keane. We'd finished trophyless the season before as well, throwing away a big lead in the league and getting doubled by the eventual champions. Good omen please log in to view this image
Yep. Gotta give the others some hope. I also heard the FA made us promise not to win more than four titles every six seasons, cos otherwise the other teams would sulk
