I notice in the July fans forum minutes that a comment was made in 'Any Other Business' saying that the club really needs to increase the supporter base!

Do they reaaly not know why supporters are leaving the club in droves?

Basically Charlton has become a mini FIFA, in place of Blatter we have a Douche but both show a total lack of respect to the loyal customer..... is this the correct way to run a business?.... for me?..... NO!

    <cheers>

    AHLL <cheers>

We should be grateful ....one of the items on their previous agenda was (I kid you not) "Bovril supplies running out in the East Stand" <laugh>

I think too the promotions of other clubs, have not helped us out. Further to; with West Ham offering season tickets for cheaper than ours, and tickets in general cheaper, what would a parent do?

    1. Take their child to see West Ham vs. Arsenal for the same price as 2. Charlton vs. Newport?

This gimicky marketing campaigns are terrible. We've always been a club thats supporter communities, family and harpered on about loyal fanbase, for as long as I can remember.

They need to get back to the core values.

I was one of those loyal season ticket after season ticket, will selling all our British players to be replaced by cheap foreigners bring me back into the fold?..... I doubt it!

The Owners have got to realise that their strategy is a major turn off for the majority of Charlton fans.

The Club currently resembles an unloved cash cow, waiting for the next Academy product off the conveyor belt to further line Douche's pockets.

I'm not against bringing in foreign players in principle, but in practical terms, if you take an average player in the Belgian League and plonk him down in the Championship the chances of him being even average in this environment are not good. The fans have seen this, and know what to expect, and aren't enthused by it at all. Reading about Jordan Cousins getting waxed ain't gonna change that!

The club is a pile of bollocks at the moment.

Since making the decision not to renew, I have not once been remotely tempted to change my mind.

The Belgian bums have turned my stomach. :emoticon-0119-puke:

Maybe in the owner or Katrien should actually listen to the fans, instead of coming out with statements like "we should trust Roland as he knows what's good!"

He sold Standard Liege! I presume the fans didn't mind on that front, I wonder if it was pressure from the fans too, for him to go? If only we had a bit more fire in us to protest, maybe he will get the point. We don't want Ratty Doucébag anywhere near our club. He can take Luzon with him to Sint-Truidense V.V. with him.

Yes, and he also sold Gomez for a fraction of his value. Liverpool have given us a lesson about the realities of how to conduct a transfer. What a result for them, buying a brilliant young player who is also a model pro for £3.5m and selling a talented kid who was too tired to play for his country and is a bundle of trouble for £49m. One of the things to enjoy next season should have been either the quality of Gomez' play or the quality of replacement bought with a £10m transfer windfall. If Roland thinks we've got a few Gomezes on the production line he'll find out the hard way that we ain't. Good prospects, yes, Edwards and Konsa will play at this level one day, maybe higher, but the likes of Gomez don't come along too often.

Spot on Forest. Gomez might have shown more enthusiasm to stay with us if there was some sign we were going to build for promotion, but given we are building a squad to balance the books, obviously the chance to step up to the Prem was irrepressible. So instantly, Liverpool were in a strong bargaining position, and Rolands chaff about not selling cheap was exposed for the rubbish it was.

Wasn't it Richard Murray who was trumpeting that they wouldn't have to sell cheap any more? Maybe he's been giving Katrien lessons in the art of negotiation.

You all love a complaint. I'm coming home from NZ because for me nothing beats walking to The Valley on a Saturday. Each to their own though

I renewed, in the end, only because if I go to 10-13 games, I'll still be money in than buying individual tickets. There's a couple of games that I'm going to miss at the beginning of the season.

Brentford, Blackburn and Bristol City. Noticed they all begin with a "B" too. You can probably get football in America and Asia in the new year?

I'll always love it, Doc - but how far can one's loyalty be stretched?

Anyway, I'm looking forward to checking out football across the continent and beyond.

    I think I'll start with Southend... :emoticon-0138-think

Nothing beats that walk, but a lot of the stuff that happens from Saturday 6pm to the following week does leave a sour taste in my mouth at the moment.

Or the lack of stuff happening seems more fitting.
