When you think of it, this club has the most classless players in the league. You have that mercenary ****er Nasri who turned his back on Wenger and Arsenal after we managed to make him so successful in England, and he's been a complete twat since his departure. And then you have Tevez, without a doubt the most classless player of all, for the way he's treated his own club, and with what he's done today at the bus parade, holding a banner saying RIP Fergie, I mean that's beyond disrespectful to do to your former manager, talk about no class. True Tevez was already an amazing player in the EPL before Fergie, but it was with Fergie where he tasted success, so you'd think this ****er would show some grace. And then you have the other ****ing mercenaries in the team who left their former clubs with a bad taste in the mouth, such as Lescott, Barry. At the end of the day, when your this classless, it will eventually come back to bite you in the ass, Mancity can have their fun for now, but it's all going to end very badly for them, the oil money isn't going to help them forever once fair play rules comes into play.
Just shows that all the money in the world can't buy class, whats that old saying about trying to polish a turd?
What Chelsea and City prove is that you should put away romantic notions of good guy/bad guy traditions you've learned from years of fairytales and Hollywood movies: The bad guys certainly will and do win and crime does pay.
Balotelli and Tevez are far and away the biggest twats in the league. How Balotelli has got away with not being mentioned so far shows how the media spun everything he did as hilarious and quirky, ignoring the dark side that he has which is deserving of far more criticism.
Made him successful, when? You are just pissed off with him for stating the obvious, he now has a winners medal, something he'd never get with you lot!
I think QPR win the award for the most classless players, simply due overwhelming lack of class that is Barton. Not sure about their other players, but Barton more than makes up for the the entire QPR squad.
Hey, if you're of the belief Abromovich, an illiterate orphan ex army private made Billions of pounds in the unregulated wild and recently unstable and corrupt former Soviet Union legitimately, go ahead. Did I mention I'm Nigerian and have some bank related questions to ask you? If you're of the belief dodgy shirt and plane sponsorship deals from clearly interconnected yet conveniently separate Emirates backed companies is all above board can I also interest you in a scheme by which I sell you some stuff and you find another 10 people to buy the same stuff making you rich quick?
They do have some characters that play for them...I think the RIP Fergie thing was ill advised (probably was given to him...I doubt he even knows what RIP stands for) However, just 2 words Kompany and Hart...surely two of the best role models in the Premiership. Kompany's interview with Lineker on MOTD was fantastic...eloquent, friendly, aware of his clubs history...a tough but fair footballing gentlemen and the very anti-thesis of someone like Barton.
With a few exceptions, most billionaires are unlikely to be angels and are probably ghastly characters...also I don't think selling oil is a crime either. In any case, if clubs are held morally responsible for the source of their owners wealth than I dont think any of us can talk (including us, we have major shareholders with dodgy pasts) By the way illiterate orphans can do well....you just need to accept that some people are more able, intelligent and courageous than you or I...and consequently in a capitalist society make much much more money than us....just a fact of life.
God, you're a naive little lamb. Are you really so dense as to believe that some barely educated bloke right out of a disbanded Soviet army just happened upon steel and oil to sell? We're not talking expanding your fruit and veg stall to a chain of shops. Oil and steel are not industries where you start small. And by some complete coincidence, unlike all the other very arrogant magnates around the world his story is conveniently bereft of details and by some other stroke of completely serendipitous happenstance, all of his former partners and associates are either in hiding or facing corruption charges. You sound a might clueless.
Ghost, so are you suggesting that the Hill woods got their power and fortune by fair means ? I have no idea if they did or not, but you are basing your argument on assumption so the same can be done for Peter Hill-Wood. He was a banker, they aren't the most honest people in the world are they. His grandfather was a businessman and politician, again, hardly bastions of truth in those environments. Who is to say Arsenal have not been funded by a family of crooks ?
My comment re people doing well despite hard beginings was a general one...made to illustrate to you that some people are BETTER than you. It was you who, with childish haste and foolishness, construed this statement as referring to the specific case of Abramovich. Ofcouse I know that it is extemely likely that Abramovich made his wealth by potential criminal means. I addressed that particular point when I said that if clubs were held morally responsible for the source of their owner's wealth then even we are tainted (and I'm not just talking about our Russian owner...who knows how many peoply Kroenke shafted on his way up to the top). The bottom line is they beat us to the league fair and square...screaming out criminal and that the "baddies" won makes you sound bitter and childish.
Lets do this...lets be sensible, even for a couple of seconds. I know it's fashionable to be contrary here on Not606, with you HotHead, Gooner and occasionally that bloke Ammar leading the charge in anti established rhetoric and counter opinion, but humour me for just a second. Lets just say that, on the face of it, I am more inclined to believe the business acumen and/or key contacts and ability to leverage nepotism of an Eton educated banker with proven investment record and son of already wealthy family than someone who's business chops were cut selling stolen petrol in the Soviet army and smuggling in the Russian black market. As far as I am aware Eton have yet to disavow Hill Wood as one of it's former pupils while the three rumoured institutes of learning that Abromvich has been linked to all deny him on record. But hey, that's just if you want to be sensible.
To be honest, that's a extremely naive view that bears little resemblance to how things actually work in a capitalist system.
I think you're making the assumption that being intelligent, able and courageous is equal to being ethically good. The crooks who make it to the top are definately intelligent and courageous (if they lacked the former they'd be plain thugs, and if they lacked the latter they'd be poor). The corrupt executives and politicians...though morally they stink do have balls and nous.
