From Vital QPR: "" Campbell Confirms Exit Plans DJ Campbell has told Sky Sports News that he must now regrettably consider moves elsewhere. The self-professed R's fan has found the going tough at Loftus Road as a change in management and injuries have prevented him from making the desired impact at his club. Campbell was limited to a handful of fixtures where he scored one goal for the R's - against relegation rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers. Campbell told Sky Sports News today that he must now reluctantly leave QPR in order to get regular football. He said: 'QPR is the team I support but for whatever reason it's not worked out so it looks like I'm going to be moving. 'I would love to stay in the Premier League but it depends what is best for me and what suits me.' He continued: 'It's a great club and it's going places and it's got great players and great people.' 'It's tough being in the situation it is, but it's football so we move on.' Campbell has been linked with Leeds United, Wigan Athletic and Blackpool in recent times, but no concrete deal is in place to take him away from W12. Shame. A qpr fan, and no doubt committed to the club. Can do a job at PL level, and tbh if we couldnt get another striker in (unlikely now) should be put in ahead of betty. Sounded gutted on SSN.
I'm not sure I ever really buy the 'professional footballer still loves the team he supported as a kid' thing but I am gutted for DJ. You have to assume that even when fit he didnt really do enough to impress in training to warrant a place in the squad.
I'm not gutted for DJ. I strongly suspect he earns substantially more money than I do and will continue to do so at another club. I wish him well, though.
