    Interesting striker developments today

Redknapp has told the BBC that DJ is a player he has always liked and will be looking at him closely over the next few weeks. Possibly upping his pricetag or actual truth? Both possible knowing Harry

Sky Sports have said that deals for Aaron McLean and David McGoldrick are close. McLean on loan has been mentioned but it doesnt give any details of the McGoldrick deal

Have to say that McGoldrick has always impressed me so Im quite happy with this. Mclean had a decent time at Posh but really cant remember him doing much since moving to Hull.

Im not sure either are true replacements for the cleverness and darting nature of DJ so it will be interesting to see how MM is planning on tinkering with the squad.

so what do you all think?

Both are players I would consider as being 'decent' at this level. McGoldrick is a bit of an enigma, when he seems to play well he is class but he hasn't had any form of consistent run or been able to nail down a place in an (at times) average Forest team but maybe we are just what he needs to kick start his career?

As for McLean, I would say I am less concerned about although he is pacey and strong, perhaps more in the mould of Ebanks Blake & DJ etc. but from what I've seen he has plenty of chances and only seems to score a few (that is for Hull anyway) but would certainly be able to notch up a few goals but again maybe lacks the consistency.

Though in fairness we haven't had a consistent striker since the days of Darrent Bent & Marcus Stewart and I imagine these 2 would be similar to the likes of John Stead an others where they have some absolute blinders but ultimately notch about 10 goals a season when they could/should score more

Does this also spell the end for Chopper?

I have to say I'm fairly pleased with the McGoldrick tranfer, seems like a decent player and has been in form this season albeit with a lower league club. Have to say considering we've got him in I'm slightly puzzled by the McLean one, never been overly overly impressed by him, doesn't appear to be a goalscorer or a target man, if we were to get another striker I would've thought it would've been a target man.

I can't imagine we'll get DJ now and it certainly looks like this could be the end of the road for a few of our strikers, Scotland, Chopra and maybe even JET!! Unless MM is planning on playing Murphy as a winger!!
