Would it be fair to say that he may have fit the requirements of the perfect stooge.

1 - 32 years of age ................. not getting any younger.
2 - Not an automatic first squad selection.
    3 - Erratic / possible attitude problems.

Answer ................. An opportunity to make some coin for the retirement fund?

Had to pay for them teeth somehow.

If the papers said the entire
Rangers squad from last year I could believe it, but the fact it's a player who only played a handful of games for us, surely it must be while he was at another team.

With this sort of thing can't he parent club be held responsible for a players actions?

There is no way that the club can be held responsible for what the odd rogue twat does.

The only times that clubs have got into trouble is when it was the club who bribed a referee, etc, or several players where involved and even then only if they could prove that "the club" knew what was going on and said nothing.

This current round of arrests seem to be more about an individual getting paid to get a yellow card or sent off during a match. The only other thing that someone like DJ could promise is not to score ... and that would hurt his own club.

Yellow/red cards can't see that as much of an issue IMHO.

However refusing to play anything that remotely resembled football and stealing 65K per week for doing it is a crime, LOCK UP Bosingwa I say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Former Premiership footballer DJ Campbell is among six people being questioned in connection with allegations of fixing in football matches, the BBC understands.

Mr Campbell, who plays for Championship side Blackburn, was one of six people arrested on Sunday.

The arrests came after ex-Portsmouth player Sam Sodje told a reporter he could arrange for players to be booked or sent off in exchange for cash.

Portsmouth FC said it was "shocked".

Let's hope this doesn't have anything to do with his time at QPR or we could get drawn into another scandal.
That usually happens when things are going well.

The greed of the wealthy few in this country knows no bounds it would appear.

We really are in the throws of an epidemic of greed and selfishness at the expense of the majority.

Footballers, bankers, city spivs, MP's, media moguls, CEO's, Energy companies, most corporations ..........the list is endless.

Bring on the revolution I say!

Any player found guilty must be banned for life from any involvement in any capacity, playing, managing, coaching, physio, making tea, cleaning boots, on the turnstiles ....

According to The Sun, part of the investigation is focusing on Campbell's booking for a tackle on Ipswich's Aaron Cresswell in the Championship match last Tuesday.

Im pretty sure you cant do a club when a player does something like that but you never know, its the FA.

The bookies bring it on themselves by allowing bets on stupid things that are east to fix. It goes back to the 1st throw in when players used to boot it straight out of play to make money for themselves.

Very surprised to see his name released in connection with this. Innocent until proven guilty and all that.
