How fecking slow are we to play the ball out?

On 3 occasions on Sunday I actually started shouting a Rob Green to do something with the ball, He just stands there waiting for the opposition to regain its shape. Three chances to run at them were just ignored! FFS. While I'm on this subject, Ned couldn't manage to bring the ball out and play against Swindon last year just why were we expecting more against West Ham? Ned is strong at the back but is no ball player, so why after 12 seconds of thinking time did he keep giving it to Ned?

Caulkers passing is some of the worst I've seen since Bruno Peroni. This is why when Green had the chance to pass to Caulker he chose Ned instead. That's scary.

Rio shouting like a demented Chav every games is also getting very boring as the minute he starts doing it he makes a mistake within the next 10 mins. Watch for that, and Isla looks to me like a crap version of Traore but on the right (yes I know he didn't play, thank god)

More Tarrabt until Jan please, Clint back in at LB move Traore to RB and play Ned for Rio, with Dunne as first choice back up.

As for the rest of the team, God only knows what will work.

Stupid and pointless post. 3 players who cannot and have not cut it in the prem (Adel,Clint & Dunne) back yeah....

sad when people who have not done sport at any decent level decide they are correct....For the record...yo are wrong....not an opinion...a fact !

EDIT" I am aware Dunne did it years ago and WAS good

Bit harsh Queens - didn't realise we needed to post our sporting credentials to be able to have a discussion on a forum.

For what it's worth (in my I-once-played-in-a-5-a-side-league opinion), Clint Hill, as our only left footed CB and former player of the year (when in the Premiership) is being unfairly maligned by your comments. He's had one bad game as part of a 3 and one bad game at LB (out of position) which is less bad games than a fair few.

OK Matt..fair enough. I apologize Bush

Just seems that some dont have much appreciation of the diffrence in top level sport and second tier. Having experienced both I can see it.

    Agan Bush. I appologise <ok>

Traore can't play on the right Bush!!

I'd actually play 3 at the back again with this line up:
    -------------------------McCarthy------------------------
    ---------------Onuoha----Caulker-------Hill---------------
    Isla---------------------------------------------------Yun
    --------------------------Sandro-------------------------
    --------------------Barton---------Taarabt---------------
    --------------------Vargas-------Austin------------------

We've missed the never-say-die attitude of Clint and Barton imo.
I think Vargas could turn out to be the surprise package of the season, but he needs to play with someone or in behind.

Im just thinkin that they all turn bad after they join QPR regardless who they are. Player or manager and after they move away from QPR they come pretty good again(M'Bia / Hughes etc) Something is seriously wrong with our beloved club and im starting to think if anything can cure that.

I like this side. This would be my settled side for the season. Why does not one else (Harry) not play this side?

I agree about Clint and Barton. But Nico has been arguably our best player this season (don't take much), and I wouldn't want to leave him out for his free kicks almost alone, even though like all of them he had a below par game yesterday. I have hardly seen Yun play so don't understand all the calls for him, he's not even been on the bench, still injured perhaps, but Traore has been doing well enough to hold his place for me, until we at least see a bit of Yun as a substitute. Henry is another - I think he's done well and was at least as good as Sandro yesterday, think he deserves to hold his place as well. If they are fit in nearly 2 weeks (gives them time to train and organize) I'd like to see this in a 4 2 3 1

    McCarthy
    Isla Caulker Hill Traore
    Barton Henry
    Vargas Nico Taarabt
    Austin

Ned must be a close bet to take over from Isla as yesterday, and from Caulker.

I also think 3 at the back works but NOT with wing backs ffs! You just end up with 5 at the back inviting attack.
If all were fit then I would go
    mcarthy
    onohua rio caulker
    Barton sandro
    Phillips tarrabt hoillet
    Vargas austin

Ps if we are going to go down then lets at least do it attempting to attack rather than defend!!

Don't be daft Taarabt thinks and moves a lot quicker than you say

Really looking forward to reading your posts when the change happens and it will. Taarabt fat and unfit still looked one of the best players on the pitch yesterday

I bet he even starts against Liverpool

Green stays until he cocks up IMO
Henry has to play until Sandro looks like a player again

    No Harm Dunne.....

Post was really about our slow build up play and poor decision making from the Keeper, The changes I suggested are more an attempt to get x2 FB on the pitch who will work hard and a slow CB making tackles is surely better than a fairly slow CB who makes almost none.

As you say, I may be wrong.

I agree, that was Ian Holloway's philosophy at Blackpool during their Premier League season - they managed to consistently score goals, home & away, against top teams, but unfortunately conceded more, especially in the second half of that season. For them it was really a season of two halves. Right now we're conceding goals, hardly scoring and losing matches with a current -11 GD. I wouldn't mind so much if we really gave it a go and lost matches, 4-3, 3-2 etc. When Harry arrived after Mark Hughes, he seemed to be a 0-0 draw specialist for quite a number of matches - we weren't scoring, but at least not conceding - it was pretty dull, dour stuff though - I want to be excited by my team, even in a losing cause. I really hope that Adel is given a start against Liverpool and we can put our stamp on the match early on with some goals, instead of another one of those 2-0 down, 3-2 epic victory revivals, which I will take of course.

What was the reasoning behind not playing Vargas? I know he hasn't been brilliant so far but we've surely got to give him game time to adjust to Prem. He's our only realistic striker option to Charlie. I say, Play him until he scores or snaps in half

I like that too and I take the point about the wing backs. Trouble is, we could get destroyed in the Premier League playing........oh wait!!

I wouldn't argue with Henry playing if Sandro isn't fit, otherwise Sandro is a far far better player imo.
Green cocked up against Southampton and did his best to give West Ham a third yesterday. I'd like McCarthy to have a go.

I don't believe that Green has made huge mistakes so far, the first Saints goal did go through him but when they are hit that hard from such close range it is difficult for a keeper to get his body behind the ball, he would have been better to go feet first the way De Gea did for Utd when he made the save from Krancjar. Green seems rather old school the way he tries to make saves whereas the younger modern keepers use legs and feet far more to make saves.

Regarding the free kick incident, Valencia should have been booked for deliberately stopping a quick kick being taken as he was only 5 yards away and still inside the penalty area, mind this was the same ref who allowed the Reading player to block a quickly taken kick by Barton from 2 yards and allowed play to continue, so I suppose we should be grateful that the ref got it right this time......
