Scum fans booing Rafa before a ball has even been kicked is a disgrace! They could have waited until 00:01 into the game. Rafa's odds slashed from 100/1 to 20/1 to be the next manager sacked.
As if Abramovich will take any notice of the fans. To him they are just a bunch of annoying individuals that have to be ignored.
They truly are the pits. This article by Des Kelly sums them up perfectly... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-Mark-Clattenburg-non-apology--Des-Kelly.html
Same could be said for any fans of any clubs. We are just money to all of them I'm afraid. It's difficult for non-Liverpool and Chelsea fans to understand the rivalry/bad blood between the clubs and Benitez/Mourinho. Why is it okay for individual players to be booed but not managers?
The situation is completely different. Benitez directly attacked the fanbase, popular players and popular manager of the club in question on more than one occasion. It might be unsavoury to some but unlike with many football fans it isn't hypocrisy. The booing was more to do with the decision of appointing Benitez than actually booing him in itself.
DL, you're not going to get any rationality from this lot when it comes to Chelsea. It appears to be an in-bred footballing kind of bigotry. Might as well not even bother mate.
Chelsea fans at work were planning their anti-Rafa chants before he'd even signed on the dotted line. Poor sap is only there as a caretaker until they work out how many millions to pay Guardiola. Even if they won the league and retained their champions league title Rafa would get the boot. I think Abramovich wants to build a legacy at Chelsea. Nearly got there with Mourinho but it was boring to watch and maybe he thinks Guardiola can turn our neighbours into the next Barcelona. If he does then it will be out with the old and in with the new. They can say goodbye to Terry, Lampard, Cole, Cech etc. The owner has the money and if he has the patience it could happen. Wouldn't surprise me if he would break the transfer record to bring Messi to London either. It's all pocket money to him after all.
Why do you call yourself Easter Road when you're an Aberdeen fan you plank? Its like that other gimp who's a Leicester fan but has a Hull video as his Sig.
Afternoon ER. Things a bit slack on the forum today then? Or has your day nurse not arrived to turn you over and clean your bed sores?
I tend to agree with you District, if we signed Diouf I'm sure a section of our fans would be "booing" before he touches a ball. However, I also think the people that brought him to the club would also get a barrel full. A lot of fans were unhappy when Abramovich sacked Ranieri, he then got rid of a "Legend" in Mourinho and now a "Legend" in Di Matteo and replaced him with a man well known to be hated by the fans (and a lot of the players) at Stamford Bridge but I don't hear any negative comments towards him? Unfortunately this is just another chapter in a long line of unsavory incidents from your club in the past year that have shown a certain number of your supporters, players and boardroom members in a very bad light. I'm not suggesting it's all the supporters, of course it's not, you come on our board quite often with logical, intelligent comments (it actually makes me wonder if you're really a Chelsea fan) but I'd like to think if I was a Chelsea fan I would be way too embarrassed to go onto another teams forum and try and defend them at the moment.
I was unhappy with the sacking of Ranieri (as were most) but when any new owner comes in it is inevitable he's going to want to stamp his authority on the club and bring his own people in so it was understandable. I don't agree with a lot (probably the majority) of Abramovich's sackings but nobody can deny he has the best interests of the club at heart. Benitez's comments and jibes at Chelsea and Chelsea fans were unnecessary. How often do you hear opposition managers attack the fanbase of another club for no justifiable reason. A lot of the bad-blood between Chelsea and Liverpool is down to Benitez. Of course everybody is different but I'd much rather let a manager know where you stand rather than be hypocritical. I can understand Chelsea fans being criticised for this from outside but for a lot of us (myself included) this is almost surreal and too much to take in a short space of time. Had RDM been sacked in the Summer with Rafa brought in as interim with fans given the time to come to terms with things and accept it I would have been surprised if he was given that kind of reception. I'd have had far more sympathy for Benitez (whether I like him or not) had he not of been so condescending towards our fans in the past. I'm not defending it (maybe I am inadvertently) just trying to explain it from another point of view.
