So, they were Bristol City players then? - in the national news yesterday - urinating on racegoers and other foul behaviour.

    Statement from the club.
We are aware of the disappointing images from the Cheltenham Festival that have been printed in various national newspapers this morning. We will be speaking to the players concerned and will take appropriate action where necessary.

Seems it was MK Dons players and Bristol City players: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-35818619

And you thought the only animals at Cheltenham were the horses: Shameless soccer stars relieve themselves into a glass then throw it over the side of their box while reality stars flash their breasts

The disgusting acts were caught on camera as the deplorably behaved VIP group brought the opening day at Cheltenham's regal festivities to a loutish, booze-fuelled conclusion. Photographs appear to show MK Dons midfielder Samir Carruthers relieve himself into an empty pint glass before standing it on the top of the exclusive enclosure's metal railing, in danger of being knocked on to passers by below. An unidentified mate then goes one worse (left) - urinating into a long glass before tossing the contents over the balcony (centre). The two players were joined in one of the ancient racecourse's packed private box by a number of other drunken looking guests - including two women who flashed their breasts (right) to the thousands gathered below. The pair - one in a revealing black keyhole number, the other in white - wore massive grins and stuck their tongues out as they showed off their busts while puffing on cigarettes.

I didn't think our boys had anything to do with it but I am amazed they are out on the piss when we are so desperate for points..

Footballers get plenty of time off, let's face it having time off allows them optimum time to recover. Drinking obviously doesn't add to that 'optimisation' but regardless of the situation we're in I don't see any harm in them going to the Festival, there's no point having them sat at home just because we're doing poorly. It's the acts there that are a bit dodgy.

I don't begrudge them a drink, but that sort of behaviour is unacceptable.

Recovery time is not piss time.

They could be visiting schools, coaching kids instead helping out the community trust.

The things Bristol City FC do little of and are **** at.

    Rather go on the piss.

To be fair there's quite a lot of Community Trust updates where city players have been to hospitals and schools and ****, I don't think that's very fair.

Agreed it doesn't set a good example but are you telling me in the same situation, with a ****load of money and the opportunity to go to Cheltenham Festival with your mates you wouldn't go? This is irrelevant from the actions that happened mind, which are obviously not acceptable.

    Bullshit fella.

Fans contacted BCFC regarding coaching sessions and asked how many time players had attended sessions at Keynsham over one year. The question was avoided because parents knew it was nil.

But that's just one place, hardly a fair guess. And I can't see how you can say it's bullshit when it used to be on the OS fairly regularly (more so last season admittedly).

Wait for what the club has to say, but that is disappointing on what I see and needs to be punished heavily if turns out to be true- If I had behaved in that manner with my employers, I think I know what the outcome would have been-

    DENTIST'S CHAIR
In 1996, Venables let his players out on a very long leash during a pre-tournament tour, and many were pictured getting sloshed in a local club.
One such player, namely Gazza, went on to have a highly influential tournament during England's run to the semis, and the atmosphere of that squad was both positive and energised. The result was that, mostly, the team played and met their challenges on the pitch with a smile on their face.

Of course if such behaviour off it were to be a regular ritual, then it would quickly result in disaster on the Saturday afternoon. But occasionally letting down the hair can be very good for moral. These are after all humans not machines. There can be no condoning players behaving like louts, pissing into glasses and causing an unpleasant representation for the club, but being pictured with a glass of booze in your hand is not a criminal act (circumstance permitting).

The great Bobby Moore used to like a drop, but you could never meet a finer behaved gentleman or world class player than him. And although in a different age, him and his generation actually won us a world cup

pissing into a glass, while in a Cheltenham exec box at same time as some slapper " gets her tits out for the lads",
looks more like an outing of south London pimps than pro footballers.

Are you insinuating you'd be sacked/disciplined for laughing while someone else does something grim in a glass?

No guess. Parents pointed it out. It was over venues. It was over a year. It would not harm the Stars to spare an hour now and again and attend one session out of thirty at each venue in a year.

Yes. For a keen price. The school has to purchase x amount of hours of Community Trust product.

It would not harm for these highly paid athletes to appear regularly to help out at the sessions the Community Trust run weekly, and during school holidays at venues like Knowle, Keynsham, Whitchurch. A roster of players appearing every ? at all venues would be an improvement.

Earn the piss ups a bit more..

They were more bystanders than doing the acts. No need for drastic action.

Agreed, city boys were not involved in the main incidents and we're just enjoying a day at the races as were thousands of others, keep calm and beat Bolton on saturday
