The stewards at Shrewsbury were a disgrace today, kicking out the drummer, me and another lad all because off making too much noise!

The stewards started by saying that there had been complaints by both sets off supporters that the drum was being banged too hard, and that we had to quiet down!
They then come to use about 20 mins before full time and said that we either hand the drum over or leave the stadium! we talked to the stewards and they kept on saying it gets handed in or we go escorted by the police! saying it was under section 8 of the rules and regulations so when asked for them they said it was available online (which it isn't) and they couldn't show it.
so then the police came up with load more stewards and asked us all to leave! when we got outside i then turned asking for money back etc as they had disturbed our game for no reason and to see the regulations, the then started pushing me untill was out the gets! all the way to the gates i said to them to stop pushing me and the wouldn't so i stood still and told them, then they grabbed me twisting arms behind my back carrying me out!

sounds like stockport all over again, why cant stewards have common sense and a brain it might help diffuse these sort of situations

Embarrassing stuff. Sums up everything wrong with football. Anyone who complained should be ashamed of themselves. I'm not much of a singer at matches but I understand how important atmosphere is. What are these complainers doing at a football match?

i don't even think it was anyone complaining, i reckon it was the stewards using it as a excuse because they wanted us to keep the noise down!

sounds about right ,stewards a bunch of jobsworths, brings back memories of last season, leeds away ,stockport away, bury away, when will they learn to treat fans like normal human beings, dont get me wrong some of the stewards at away games have been really good and friendly towards us i just wish they used common sense instead of giving it large.

Never known such ridiculous stewarding. I've been to most grounds and have never heard of a drum being banged too loud as an excuse to kick out fans.
Then you get the usual attitude of aggression when you question the reasons or ask for proof of rules etc. This is not the 70's / 80's when fighting was a regular thing. This is a league two match between two clubs that have a family atmosphere and there is no need for shoving fans around for banging a drum or making noise when supporting their team. Utterly pathetic!

Farcical from the stewards, the noise was disrupting the control room to our left, i think the story about complaints may have been made up also.
It really was a joke and ended up decreasing the enjoyment of a sizeable minority over what was actually a very good game
They should be ashamed of themselves

They normally don't seem to have a problem with it. Once they do take notice though they give you a warning and will do what they said if you persist. There's a chap in the south stand everyone calls timmy mallet, who regularly strips his top off and runs up and down the front concourse shouting at the fans trying to encourage them to sing louder and he often gets warned and occasionally escourted out!

Sorry to hear your match was cut short.

Just plain nit picking. Stewards everywhere never seem to do anything about abusive and bad language which is much more annoying and offensive.

totally agree stewards ruin it at most grounds, but in my experience its the all seater grounds that we seem to get more hassle from the stewards,on the terrace they seem to leave you alone.whether you like a drum in the ground or not you cant argue that it helps get the fans to start singing,my point on this incident is if its against ground regulations wouldnt your stewards had been better off confiscating the drum before the game rather than kicking our fans out with 20 minutes to go.
