Here, here - although they are noisy and also a bit dangerous in the wrong hands at close quarters. When I attended my very first ever R's match (Boscombe & Bournemouth away) with my Dad in Oct 1966, aged 12, he painted a WWII ARP rattle in blue & white for me to bring and pre-match bought me a QPR rosette and a silky scarf, both items I still have, not sure about the rattle. It was a fantastic day out, the R's were 3-1 winners with at least, Rodney scored and totally mesmerized me with his antics - well after that they truly had me, hook, line and sinker 50 years ago - a life sentence I'm still serving.
Now be all know how TED rambles on about rival fans mixing it up a bit, but in the terraces we had home fans around us (no segregation in those days), and I found my Dad a bit intimidating and scary at times with frequent outbursts and exclamations of, "get stuck in there", "you dirty dog", "lovely goal", "did you see Rodney" etc.
