Anyone else agree that improved discipline is helping us a lot this year? Was reminded by the BBC's story about the potential signings that we had a record nine red cards last season, yet none so far this season. Obviously the selling of Mills and lack of playing time of Danns is important in this (they were our two worst offenders) but does anyone else think that Pearson's been doing well in this regard? Personally have to credit the appointment of a solid captain in Morgan to this.
Been reminded of this of course after the farcical performances of many of Birmingham City's players at the weekend!

One of Mills' red cards wasn't really his fault and i can still see Konchesky getting sent off this season, Knockearts "passion" might still get him sent off.

I think its generally been a fact that we are playing better, which means we have the ball more often, which leads to less frustration, which leads to less cards. The attacking team will always pickup less cards <ok>

I have been really impressed with our discipline and I have to say that I put it down to not having someone like Bamba at the back who loses concentration quickly and affect the entire team - instead we have Morgan and St Ledger/Whitbread who are confident and solid and have passed that attitude to the rest of the team - even Konchesky has stopped his mental challenges (or at least limited them to every other game!).

Even when we are on the cosh - as we were at the beginning of the season when we were ****e in the first halves of games - we never did anything stupid and that is a very good mentality to have.

One of only two teams to avoid a red all season. Other being Dierby.

Last season we survived 11 minutes <laugh>
