"Disappointing" - Bristol City regret issued over Han-Noah Massengo https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/disappointing-bristol-city-regret-issued-over-han-noah-massengo/ * 'Bristol City have had some disappointing transfers in their time, and despite Han-Noah Massengo showing signs of his potential, he will ultimately go down as a poor investment from the Ashton Gate outfit.' * 'He had impressed in Monaco's academy and had a few outings in the first-team, which included three appearances in the Champions League, as Lee Johnson jumped at the opportunity to sign him, with Premier League giants Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund reportedly also keen on the youngster.' * 'In my opinion, it would be Han-Noah Massengo. In that big spending season we had, bringing Tomas Kalas, Kasey Palmer, Jay Dasilva in and Massengo joined for around €8 million. I don't know if we paid all of that back, due to it being add-ons, but who am I to know," Sandy told Football League World.' * 'And after refusing to sign an extension to his expiring contract early on in the 2022/23 season, Massengo was essentially banished by then-manager Nigel Pearson, unceremoniously bringing an end to his time as a Robins player.'
Didnt he go to Burnley for compensation payment? ... just checked has played 8 since what a waste whether good or bad............. should have resigned and put his head down .............. might have been worth £10m now!
That's a fair assessment. He came with lots of hype, potential and promise, but it simply didn't deliver on any of it, really.
I think? his father / agent has a lot to be sorry for. NP would likely have played him had he not been so obstinate ...OR the agent / advisor not so greedy his under contract for another 3 seasons this plus 2 8 games in a possible 50? not a good thing started 2 this season 1 a lge cup other 63 mins and has 35 on pitch as a sub
He looked exciting when he was on the ball - quick and nimble. However he delivered almost nothing. I’m not sure if he even got an assist. Ultimately another ‘dud’, but unlike Diony I thought he had some potential to come good.
Can anyone think of a City player who went down easier than Massengo, he was very lightweight, especially in a tackle. I think the kids in Section 82 liked him as they were always singing his name. Massengo must have had a good agent for us to spend £8million for him.
I don’t think we actually paid anywhere near £8m in the end, as most of that value was in clauses that never happened. Either way, not good value for money from him for me.
