Disappointing tonight after the result on Saturday, and it looks to have pretty much killed off our chances for the play offs. Gutted we couldn't get one over Burnley and that they were the ones to end our chances, but hey ho, thats life. If we can stay were we are now just below the play offs then it will be a decent end to the season, better than i think most of us could have anticipated given our bleak financial predicament in August.

Anyway, the key now is not to get our heads down and build towards next season. We've set ourselves on the right track now and steadily making progress. With a few additions in the Summer and the deadwood out the squad, we have the potential for big things next season. Plus this squad of relatively young players can learn from the experience and be better for it next season. Obviously, its not mathamatically impossible to reach the play offs, but looking at things sensibly its asking a lot for teams to mess up. Lets look towards setting a new unbeaten record away from home on Saturday and having a solid finish to the season. We may have realistically missed out on the play offs, but this season has being far from a failure. Thoughts?

I think you're quite right, Burnley will be in the play-offs.. City need to go on a run to have any chance..

I would say 14 goals (comfortably the worst in this divison) at home in 18 league games is not good enough. As monumental as our away form has been...ultimately this has cost us. Why the freeze at the KC??

Agreed it's probably all over for this season, but will be looking forward to next season like no other! We need to sort the midfield and flanks out because we look good at the back and up front, maybe another striker and Mannone would be nice additions too. Pearson should be able to sort out the deadwood we have left which should mean we start the season on an up next year, will make all the difference in the end. Will be having a bet on us to be Champs next year, I don't think any of the relegated teams will be that much to worry about.

We can't expect to win every match. That would be daft. We seem to be building a good top ten team, but I think they need another year of battles and experience. We would be minced-meat against most PL teams, and I don't want another year of sitting watching our net flap with opposition goals.

We're doing fine. About 8 or 9 is fine for me. But of course they should go for the highest spot possible.

This current squad is a little lightweight, a pretty good top half championship side which is where we are but would not survive the PL..

We'll see more changes in the summer and come back stronger and if we get a good start we should have a better shout at it..

as for this season, I think yes, the home form and lack of goals at the KC is clear.. also look at the GD between the top 6/7 and then positions 8-12..

sadly we're going to end up missing Cam Stewart, with him we might have just sneaked in.. without him, we're a touch short..

Well I do, this is about the weakest Championship there has ever been, the top sides are all 'surprise' packages no one really expected, and none of them have any star players. The only real quality squad you can see from a mile off is Cardiff, aside from that I feel this is a very weak league and would have been a great chance for us to go back up. Next year West Ham, Wolves, Wigan, WBA, Stoke or Villa would all be definite promotion contenders. They all have a sound financial footing bar maybe West Ham and they would probably make up the top 3 next year if they get relegated this season.

Villa and Stoke shouldn't go down but I wouldn't be that bothered about the rest. We would be right up there this year but for the uncertainty at the start of the season.

Hard to say for certain who will go down from the premiership, theres no teams who are cut adrift. I'm sure the championship will be as competative as always next season, but we'll certinaly be one of the stronger teams in the division and promotion favourites. Noticed QPR and Cardiff both lost tonight, shows what an unpredictable league we're in.

Hard to pinpoint why we have indifferent form at the KC. Maybe its the onus been on us to attack at the KC rather than hit teams on the counter attack like we do away from home. Amazing how our away from has improved so drastically after 18 months without a win away from home, another sign of progress from early on this season in my opinion.

Are we not one of the top 3 scorers away from home? Or maybe 4th?

We are a "Top 6" Defensive team and a "Bottom 6" Attacking team. Nowhere near an EPL Team.
I would expect more of the same next season as I believe the "Yo-Yo" teams will dominate.

last 2 home games have shown where not quite good enough yet anyway imo, and are 2 or 3 players short..
despite creating several goal scoring chances, burnley where, a lot quicker, sharper, and neater to watch imo..played some nice stuff in the 1st half..

I don't understand how we can predict for next season we don't know who is coming down or up from League 1. We will be stronger by virtue of a better start to the season but as will others especially Boro but also probably Leeds. Also QPR, Cardiff, Swansea, Forest and Burnley are all very good sides and only three will be promoted. Unless we sort the home form it will be more of the same, fringes of the play-offs daring to dream.

Finally got over my disappointment from last night. Now the lads have to put their heads down, and get on with getting us our best finishing position for this season. Then that will give us a springboard to work from at the start of next season.

I'm still disappointed over last night, but we still have 10 games left and who knows what could happen between now and then, the main thing is we have to go into Saturday's game and come away with 3 points and keep fighting for a good finish
