I was just about to go on twitter and demand to David McNally that I get my £25 back but I've cooled down, got some perspective, realised I would have paid £1,025 for us to be in the Premier League two years ago and decided to moan to you lot instead, so enjoy! I strongly believe that Paul Lambert should have played his strongest 11 today, that meaning that Holt, Surman, Naughton (providing he's fit) and Ruddy should have been in the starting line-up. People keep telling me that the league is the main priority, but we're not going to get into the top 7, we're not going to get relegated, and we're probably not going to get any points against Manchester United next week, so why shouldn't we just go for it? Our one hope of getting into Europe this season was through the F.A Cup and now that's gone. As such I feel let down. Secondly, and I alluded to this in the above paragraph, I can't help but feel that the meaning has gone from our season. I woke up this morning really looking forward to this game. Now it seems that, bar a horrific collapse, we will play out the rest of our season in mid table mediocrity. And that disappoints me. Thirdly, and perhaps most importantly, the anger I mentioned in the title comes exclusively from the players. Jed Steer had a good game, but clearly isn't as good as John Ruddy, especially when dealing with corners (don't get me wrong though, he's a good player!), Drury and Martin were both incredibly sloppy, Fox was as bad as I've ever seen a Norwich player under Lambert - for such a good passer of the ball his distribution was truly diabolical. Bennett (who I rate highly) didn't look like he knew what he was doing a lot of the time, Pilkington was largely anonomous and Hoolahan was incredibly wasteful. Morison looked disinterested, due mostly to the fact that he couldn't control the ball at all. Despite this, I always expect 100% from a player and I'm sure Morison gave it - it just wasn't his day. Jackson never gave up a lost cause, but often to no avail. Ward and Barnett were better though still not great, and Vaughan and Wilbraham showed great promise as a strike partnership - it's a pity Wilbraham isn't ten years younger. Well, I think I've had my say now, rant over. On the Ball City, In Lambert we Trust. Cheers, HFM.
our fans outsung you our team outplayed you and we did well to adapt to your direct approach your current team would be a mid table champ outfit your fans are pathetic
**** Happens, were playing Man United next week and there probably playing doncaster Their fans were loud and passionate but it was all a bit embarressed and from where I was sitting, I was just confused. On kick off they set off blue and white confetti. I'm serious. wow They've acted as if they've won the world cup and frankly they need to get over themselves. Good win for them over Norwich B. I hope they get promoted as we could do with another club owned by some anonymous thailand dog-food manufacturer or whoever they are.
I'm not going to rise to the bait, I already congratulated you on your own thread, so this post of yours was completely pointless. Beef put you in your place anyway, you plonker.
Shows how much your club has fallen that you are over-the-moon with a win over Norwich B Leicester's dreams live on in the cup only, they have no stamina to last the Championship season, hence they never get promoted.
Enjoy your championship football prick, We'll not even give you a 2nd thought as we take on Man u next week ! jog on son your team beat our reserves, big deal!
Hucks - I am so annoyed tonight. I always tell the missus give me 15-20 minutes after the game to calm down after a bad performance and then I'm absolutely fine. I don't even want to get started tonight otherwise I will not stop and now, long after the final whistle, I am still fuming!!! I just want to say this then I'm going to go... Firstly, it says something that out best player today was Wilbraham!!! By a mile too may I add. Hold up play was good, won more than his fair share of headers and created some good opportunities for himself and others and boy did he need to as there was precious little in most other areas of the park! Like you Hucks, I am wondering what good this can do after such an abject performance, when a quarter final place was at stake. It really shows us something though and that is if the preparation isn't at 100% then we will face an uphill task against anyone. Take nothing away from Leicester, they played very well and looked the more likely to score for most of the match, but why oh why did we not mix it up a little. You didn't have to be a genius to work out that it was going horribly wrong in the middle of the park. Last week we adapted and changed systems. This week I don't know if anybody had a clue how we should combat Leicester! In the premiership we apparently train all week with a system in place to outthink the opposition - Judging by Lambos comments after the final whistle, I think all the preparation that has taken place is in readiness for Manure next week!!! So when Leicester started to boss us around the players really didn't know what to do. Worse still they seemed to keep making the same mistakes time after time. How Wes got MotM I shall never know - I love the little fella to bits but for the last few games he hasn't been at his best and today his decision making was poor - when you want him to shoot he tries to get in that extra pass and when the pass was on he either misplaced or overhit it or shot instead!!! Morison's body language was there for all to see today. Bennet had a decent first half but looked out of sorts in the second period. Pilkington - where was he? The one redeeming feature from today was Jackson who in my opinion is looking mightily impressive and Vaughn is going to have a job displacing him on current form. He is looking sharp, linking up the play better, is always a nuiscance, runs the channels well and is reading the flick ons much better from the target men. His movement is the key - just have a look at Holts second goal against Swansea last week and it owed a lot to Simeons run across their backline which created the space for Holt. To be fair it is easy to have a dig at the players and I know they tried their best - perhaps I am more annoyed at the manner of the exit as much as anything else - like it doesn't matter somehow - of course it matters. It mattered to the 24,500 NCFC fans that turned up today and it matters to a whole generation of NCFC fans who have known little else other than failure in this cup competition for the last 20 years. All week we have heard that it is survival that matters!!! If we had 30 points fair enough, 32 even and you could use that just possibly but we are sitting comfortably in 8th and this was a great opportunity wasted. You don't get that many good opportunities when the big boys get knocked out so I am totally and utterly gutted. If the cup really doesn't mean that much then don't charge £25 for it - and don't give me that supply and demand retort. Its as much about attitude and committment than figures. I just hope and pray that Leicester get Tottenham away tomorrow because if they get Bolton at home I will be fuming even more!!! Rant over for now!!! <pissedoffandfrustratedemotion>
it was a great victory for our c team... over your b team.. of course we are chuffed.. can't wait for our internationals to come back..!
You may not understand this, and not necessarily down to your lack of intelligence, but Leicester have got "QPR" written all over them.
you guys are so bitter i always had a soft spot for the canaries after the white tights match the ticket allocation policy all but killed that and your collective failure to accept defeat from a better collection of players really puts the lid on it btw who is that dirty fouling league 1 type you have at the back---any ref but dean would have sent the twat off for his antics
Glynak. Reel yourself in please Let them be bitter, let them think they were just playing their 'b' side, let them think they're a bigger club than us, let them think that we'll be midtable championship forever and just sit and watch it recoil because it always does Unlucky to the normal Norwich fans. You caught us on an 'on' day where we caught you on an 'off' day. That's football.
The only bitterness i'm seeing here is against our team who let us down, now being in the Championship you might not have seen how well we normally play (and I don't mean that as a dig at all) and as for the whole B team thing given 2 of our players are fresh back from long term injuries who played today, one striker who is 4th choice on a normal day, Barnett who hasn't played in the 1st team this year and of course Steer how can anyone argue that is our 1st/A team I don't know. I'm sad we're out but at least now there are no distractions to league survival... As for bossed it well I listened to it on the radio and from what I was hearing it was scrappy on both sides unfortunately for us Leicester managed to be more clinical and finish one more of their chances off than us and hats off to them, hope they do well in the rest of the competition. Onwards and upwards chaps
The whole 'b' team thing is ludicrous. You made 4 changes from your massive game last week as did we.
