We really need to be more patient with our new players, we're disappointed with back to back 0-0's but its only 2 games for 3 players with no experience playing in England.

Some of our favourite players in recent seasons have taken months to settle (Henry, Pires, Bergkamp, etc)

Where I'm disappointed is the current squad members who could help their transition but being more productive.

Gervinhio, Walcott and Ramsey have all been disappointing in their appearances thus far and and they should be stepping up with the extra competition.

Gervinhio - Was decent against Sunderland but his end product still isn't good enough and today was completely ineffective. After a disappointing first season how much more time do we give him?

Walcott - Poor in both games thus far, handful of flashes but still inconsistent and physically gets dominated far too often, 1 week left to sign a new deal so where's his head at....maybe a last minute transfer out of the club if he refuses to put pen to paper

Ramsey - Woeful last season but decent for Team GB in the Olympics..but his 2 sub appearances have offered nothing to the team. He's still sloppy in possession and in both games he had the ball nicked off him which almost lead to a goal against us. Also prone to wild and selfish long range shots

I think we've seen positive signs from all 3 of our new signings, enough to be patient and without others stepping up to help the team it's unfortunately put more pressure on them from the media and some fans

Ramsey is putting in the same ****ty performances as last season, maybe it's time the scouts start looking for a replacement, maybe we should try out Einsfield? We bought him from Dortmund in January, and he seems to score in every game he starts. Hoping we see him in the Carling Cup.

There wasn't much to judge Ramsey by today.

And I know I'm the token "Gervinho is good" guy around here, but yes he was bad today. I wouldn't simplify it to his "end product" as that is getting old, but he made too many wrong decisions when to pass when to move forward, etc. And he really looked liked he struggled with the pitch to be honest.

A bit harsh on Walcott and Ramsey today, seeing as they only has 15-20 minutes....

No mentiion of good performances from the full backs, diaby and arteta - are we in for another season of player-bashing already??

Harsh on Walcott. Harsh on Ramsey, but then it doesn't take long for Ramsey to screw up and show us he hasn't changed.

Can't really rate Ramsey so far as he only had two short sub-appearances, but this will be a defining season for him. If he doesn't step up, it will be unlikely that he will get gametime soon.

Gervinho was awful today, would have taken him off at half-time. He doesn't look like a big threat on the right wing, he had a preseason and good game against Sunderland though.

As for Walcott, that contract situation will/should be resolved by the next game. He will either have a new contract in his pocket or he won't be a Gunner by then.

I get the feeling Theo is off, he didn't look as interested in the game as normal when he came on. He may be infuriating, but at least he normally does try.

Arteta was a class act today. Dealt with everything, organised the defenders behind him too. Gerv was poor, but he'll bounce back. As long as Diaby and Ramsey don't start, we're good.

I saw Walcott smiling and laughing with oxocube on the bench and he did well when he came on. All the recent stories i have seen have been about him currently negotiating a 5 year farily high value deal to stay at Arsenal - he's apparently completely fine here and it's just a matter of sorting the details of the deal. I may be completely wrong ofcourse adn reading into the wrong media stories but who knows.

Personaly i think he is one of our better players and hope and believe he will sign a new contract. If he doesn't then we've gotta grab Afelley from Barca.

I thought it was a solid, mature display. I'm inclined to agree with Wenger's appraisal that once our attacking players develop an understanding, the goals will come. The most positive thing for me is that this was an away game against our bogey team and I hardly ever felt worried that they would sucker punch us and score - that's an improvement in my eyes, usually I'm a nervous wreck during this fixture. Once we become more incisive up front we'll be a very difficult team to play against.

It's not uncommon for new strikers to take a while to get a goal, once they do they will be fine.

Gerv has had long enough to show us what hes got.

It is clear to me that he has nothing to offer but dribbling down the pitch till he runs out of grass.

Never shoots , gets outmuscled by any defender .

The downdraft from a passing gnat would knock him off the ball.
He is NOT Arsenal quality .

as that guy in platoon said " He aint gonna make it. "

Before i get accused of player bashing , . i though we had a good solid performance yesterday from everyone.

Even Mannone , i choked on my coffee when they said he was playing the but lad did good. .

Gervinho just needs the pitches to be a few yards longer and he'll be fine <whistle>

Mannone has always been good imo. Maybe I missed his bad performances for us, but I thought he got grouped in with Almunia/Fabianski. Whenever I saw Mannone he did good.
