Best game hes played for us this season IMO.Far better RM now than a striker, for me we should leave that position alone , leave Dirk playin Right Mid ,also Downing had his best game for us IMO, and well Bellamy , what a player, pick your superlative.Same team and formation v United
don't get how kuyt can play and be a big part of a win when he's a huge part in us droppoing so many points. its a bit mad really
I'm not sure he fits into the team anymore. He's not the winger that we need, and he's not the prolific goalscoring centre-forward. Can't knock his attitude or workrate but he's one of several players who could be sacrificed to enhancing the first XI
Doens't fit into the team? Play him with Maxi/Bellamy/Suarez and he fits like a glove. Hard working, ball to feet passing, intelligent thinking and right place at the right time for knock ins or rebounds. The only aspect of the team he doesn't play well with is when Carroll plays because hugging the by-line, beating a man and knocking in a cross isn't in his skillset. Build a team around Suarez and he's great. Build it around Carroll and he'll struggle. Either way, he's a solid player until the summer at least where he'll probably be moved on
Kuyt put in a real shift last night, covering the whole right side last night (except from the one time where City nearly scored from-when Kolorov put the through ball in I think) but apart from that he played great... He's deffo more of a RM as he knows his role well and doesnt find himself randomly drifiting upfront... Deffo agree is was Downings best game too... Does the guy ever looked tired? Its a shame he'll probably move on but I think the time is right...
He was brilliant yesterday. Sometimes you need the kind of players who just go out there and do not only what you ask of them, but far more, Dirk is that man for us. His tracking back is useful, he goes forward and yesterday the positions he got into meant it didn't matter if he had a poor first touch. The next game he plays, watch his movement, offers so much to the team which goes unnoticed for the most part. Agreed he has had a dip of form recently, but his performance yesterday deserves credit, he played the role of supporting Craig Bellamy so well.
