That would do me for now. Di Canio's had no money up to now. If we bring in a Director of football with a knowledge of scouting and perhaps a few scouts of his choosing I think it will work out quite nicely.

It's more likely we'll see a few mackems in Rome, if not Milan, now.

I would die of happiness if this happened. Maldini is my footballing hero.

Having said that PDC clashed with people at Milan so I can't imagine him and Maldini are best mates.

Someone with a good knowledge of foreign players, so we can bring in the likes of a Michu et al. Over paying inflated fees for British based players who do **** all.

Everyone let's not forget we can still be relegated. That should be our main focus - survival.

This would only work if di canio is happy with the appointment as the director of football has caused issues
If they got someone in with experience
Like ray Wilkins(just an example) to be used as a support Mechanism
For di canio between the players and the board that could work

It's unlikely he'd join without accepting it.

Anyone know who Di Canio is bringing with him? Heard Curbishly is his #2 from another thread...? Would be good, a number 2 who has been in the EPL before, helping him out when needed.

Don't think he wants one mate. He doesn't get on with a vocal minority of the fans as well.

    This!

I have been saying it for ages that we need to move away from the old British managers (MON & Bruce). Their tactics unfortunately no longer belong in the game.
I am over the moon we now have a foreign manager who potentially will go out into the foreign market & find good players for half the price.
    E.G Michu 2 million.....Graham 5 million...

Good call poolie, think this head coach bit is until the end of the season mate next season (hopefully in the PL) he'll be manager.
He has a hell of a job on his hands the club need a good clear out from staff to players and, it won't come cheap.
Just watching SSN and there was an interview with a journo saying last season MON marked the number of players who he thought would make it in PL there was apparently 3/4 names from the whole squad.
That is the problem with us and changing that is the only way to go.
