Guess this means Macheda and Welbeck will be the backup strikers, although one of them may still go out on loan.
I think he did quite well at Blackburn. Much better on the ball that I had assumed (due to Manucho unfortunately) played a couple of cracking through balls when they beat Liverpool at Ewood Park if I remember correctly. I think hes a lot better than the aforementioned Manucho but I don't see him getting a lot of chances purely because of Welbeck and Macheda that are probably better and have the ability to reach a higher peak. Regarding the loan, it's a bit silly surely, he was at a Premier League club last season and certainly didn't look out of his depth but we are considering letting him go down a league? A backwards step perhaps regarding the determination of whether he has a United future? When Ole was reserve team manager he did have special praise for Diouf.
I agree with Muffin, he was excellent against Liverpool and does seem to have more to his game than I initially thought also.It would be a surprise to see him drop a division, especially at his age but it could be just to get the goals flowing again as he was prolific in Norway and hopefully he can regain that form even if its just to increase his value.
