Rumours doing the round, that we are in for him for £2 Mil and on the face of it, it does like a bargain, but how would he fit into our system? You can never doubt his class on the ball, but off it, he can be a liability. I think we should look around for other options, but if all else fails, then I would take a risky punt on Berba.

It's not like we're in a position to be turning down players with goalscoring ability.

True, but maybe we should try other options first. I would love to see us try and get someone like Morata on loan for example.

That is the same link that according to Twatter Sanogo posted welcoming Berbatov to Arsenal

There's no video on that Facebook page, what are you talking about?

EDIT: The video which was on there was an automated bot linking to a story about Berbatov from a news website rumouring that he was going to Arsenal. People need to check their sources.

Not happy, was hoping we'd be a bit more ambitious than just signing a miserable old lazy ex-spud AND manc.

I'm can't think of anything positive to say on the issue

It is miserable when you say ex spud and manure!!
however, when you have injured Bendtner as your second striker you cannot be too picky.

Not sure whether Berbaflop would be a good thing IF and only 'IF' your team morale goes down!

Would be a good SECOND buy. If you can snap up a Morata or a Costa too that would be big business, and would take the pressure of whoever you brought in whilst Berbatov who is used to the Prem stands in for a while!

I'd rather try and sign Anelka if we're going for players at the end of their careers.

Not seen much of Berba, has he still got the magic? IF he has, we may see an even more dangerous Berba playing with a high quality midfield outfit like ours.

He's on 1 in 3 so far this season - a decent return in a struggling Fulham side. Give him Cazorla, Ozil, Theo, Ramsey, Pod to play with and who knows how good he could still be? The problem is, Giroud runs a LOT - something I found I really didn't appreciate until I saw him at a game - and Berb will not offer this. However, his technical ability is far superior to Giroud. He could be a masterstroke, he could be attrocious. Really it will come down to how well he links up with Ozil and Theo in my mind.

Well back when he wanted to leave ManU I said I wanted him, but it's a bit late now maybe? At ManU he wasn't really a flop, he performed in almost every game he played in.

We have a bad record of not being able to get rid of players, whether they are 'for the future' or just a temporary fix.

He finished top scorer in the league one season with United, I think. Personally, I think he'd suit you well, he's good in the air, holds up the ball well and generally links up well with the players around him. The only question mark over him really is whether he'd be happy sitting on the bench a lot but at his age you'd expect he would be.

I would be intrigued how he would fit into our team. One thing is clear, he is a damn fine player. He oozes quality and it would be interesting to see how he mixes it up with similar classy players like Ozil, Cazorla etc...

It would appear that AW has rubbished the idea of signing Berbatov

No, we need a guy who is ready to fight for usand for his future. I am afraid Berba will be another passenger. Talented, yes, but a passenger. He can score one or two, but ( I may be wrong, but this is just my impression) he is not good for the current Arsenal dressing room. He is the guy with an attitude of a football pensioner.
